PREVIEW: Manchester United Look to Push on in Busy Christmas Period

In the lunchtime Boxing Day kick-off, Manchester United are looking to carry on their unbeaten away form at the King Power Stadium against Leicester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side head into this one unbeaten against their opponents in the last eleven meetings.

Manchester United Look To Extend Unbeaten Run Against Inconsistent Leicester City

Leicester City

Leicester City has been really inconsistent this season but an impressive win at high-flying Tottenham Hotspur will give them some impetus heading into a busy festive period. Brendan Rodgers’ side has found it difficult to score goals and despite star striker Jamie Vardy limping off with an injury, he is set to be fit to face the Red Devils.

The England international scored a penalty and was a cause in the second own goal which sealed his team’s victory. Vardy always seems to show up against the big six. He already has 11 goals and 4 assists this season. Leicester City has one draw and four losses in their last five meetings.

The return of James Maddison will be a huge bonus and can be an influence in this key game. Alongside Youri Tielemans, the midfield battle between the sides will extend who comes out as the victor.

Manchester United

Manchester United are tied with Everton for third place in Premier League table but hold a game in hand. They have played really well of late and have shown the ability to overcome early deficits. Bruno Fernandes has been Manchester United’s most dependable player so far this season. He has nine goals and five assists.

Anthony Martial has struggled so far this season but his goal in the last game is sure to give him a boost.  Edinson Cavani is a huge bonus for Solskjaer’s side as despite his age is a constant moving threat. Along with Marcus Rashford, they are more than capable of outscoring sides.

Lately, they have got behind teams and came back to win it will be difficult to come back against Leicester. United will be hoping for another electric start like against Leeds to maintain a foothold on league leaders, Liverpool.

Prediction

Man United will carry on their sensational away form and run out 2-0 winners and currently, only Liverpool are playing better than them in the league. It is an early kick-off so there could be some early sloppiness and with Leicester’s inconsistency, you don’t know which side is going to turn up.
