Manchester United vs Everton 0-1: Manchester United Loss Means That They Will Rue Dropping So Many Easy Points

Manchester United loss to Everton at Old Trafford in a Premier League match pegged them back in the league table. The Manchester United vs Everton 0-1 defeat must have stung the Red Devils even more, considering the fact that Everton played around 75 minutes of the match with 10 men.

United are now 10th in the Premier League table with 18 points from 12 matches. They have collected two points from their last three matches, but it really should have been more.

Manchester United Loss Is Yet Another Instance of Letting an Opportunity Go

United drew with Nottingham Forest away a few weeks ago despite leading at one point in time. They then led against Tottenham Hotspur until the 83rd minute before the latter scored twice in the space of a few minutes. United then needed a last-minute equaliser to take a point from that match.

Manchester United loss at home against Everton was simply not acceptable. Having found the opposition a man down, the Red Devils should have been able to snatch all three points from the match. However, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s brilliant strike managed to win the match for the Toffees.

For Everton’s goal, Bruno Fernandes’ defensive shortcomings came to the fore once again, as the Portuguese midfielder failed to contend with Dewsbury-Hall, who then shrugged off an attempted tackle from Lenny Yoro before taking the shot at the goal.

Once again, United missed a specialist holding midfielder in the double-pivot in the midfield. They simply threw away a great opportunity to consolidate their position in the league table by earning three valuable points at home.

With a little more application and professionalism, the Red Devils could have won each of their last three matches. However, instead of collecting nine points from three matches, they have managed a meagre two, which should be a big factor in deciding their ultimate position in the league table.

Ruben Amorim’s Men Will Have Some Breathing Space After Their Next Match

Manchester United loss to Everton could prove to be a really bad result, as they face a really tough opposition in Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday, November 30. After that, however, the Red Devils should be able to breathe easy with matches against West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and AFC Bournemouth.

Still, the match against Bournemouth, who have been really good so far, could prove to be a little tricky. However, if United do not mend their ways, any fixture could turn to be dangerous for them.

Amorim will have to instil the tendency to refuse to lose in his men. He has been in charge of the team for a year now, and this much is expected from him. Otherwise, the qualification for European football next season will remain a distant dream.

Benjamin Sesko, who did not play in the Manchester United vs Everton clash because of an injury, has scored only two goals in 12 matches for his new club so far. Unless the No. 9 scores more frequently, the chances of winning matches will be more difficult.

It remains to be seen whether the recent Manchester United loss is the start of a trend, or if they can start winning matches again.
