Marcus Rashford Barcelona Form: Boost to Man United Loanee’s Career

The Marcus Rashford Barcelona form is a far cry from his final days at Manchester United. The 28-year-old English forward, who is on loan to Barcelona for the 2025/26 season, is enjoying his stint at the Catalan club.

Rashford is regularly getting starts at Barcelona and has managed to earn the faith of Hansi Flick, his manager. The left-winger has often played as the Barcelona No.9 this season and has managed to justify his inclusion in the team.

Marcus Rashford Barcelona Form

The Marcus Rashford Barcelona form has seen the forward register 23 appearances for Barcelona already. In comparison, Robert Lewandowski, the top Barcelona No.9, has played in 17 matches only. Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo have played in 21 and 17 matches, respectively.

Impressively, Rashford has scored seven goals and registered nine assists in 23 matches. Before his loan move to the La Liga side, Rashford scored 138 goals in 426 matches for Manchester United and has enjoyed a brief loan stint at Aston Villa before coming to Barcelona. The Marcus Rashford Barcelona form vindicates the faith put in him by the club.

Rashford does not get to attack the space in the final third from counterattacks as frequently for Barcelona as he did at Manchester United. That is because Barcelona’s playing style is different. However, he has adjusted well to the short passing game involving other forwards, but relishes the few opportunities he gets to attack the space from counter-attacks and then finish past the goalkeeper.

The English forward is thus making his mark in Spanish football. His return to Manchester United at the end of the season might not be easy, as his relationship with Ruben Amorim has not been great. However, if Amorim does not remain the manager of the Red Devils at the end of the season, then the scenario could change for Rashford.

There is a €30 million buy clause for the English forward who is on loan to Barcelona. However, his performance for the club will decide whether he manages to stay at the club at the end of the season.

With the abundance of options Barcelona have in terms of their attacking players, it is not going to be easy for any player to stand out. Rashford’s job is not easy, but he has so far managed to prove to be equal to his task.

Barcelona Should Be Eyeing the Coveted Double This Year

The Catalans are currently one of the best teams in Europe. Hence, they will be in contention to win the UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles.

Rashford is yet to win either the Champions League or the Premier League title and therefore will cherish the prospect of winning any or both of the big titles.

It now remains to be seen whether Amorim is left to regret the decision to let Rashford leave. The challenge for the Englishman will have to keep performing for his current club and also make sure that he gets selected for England’s World Cup squad for the 2026 World Cup.
