The 2026 World Cup England squad will certainly have a lot of surprises, but the question of whether Jarrod Bowen will be included remains under some doubt.
However, the West Ham United captain is one of the best options England have for that position.
The 2026 World Cup England squad and the right-winger’s inclusion will depend a lot on his performances in the next couple of months.
However, as his display against Leeds United in the FA Cup quarter-finals showed, one that West Ham drew 2-2 but lost on penalties, he is on track to get selected in the World Cup squad.
2026 World Cup England Squad: Jarrod Bowen Among Many Right-Winger Candidates
There are a few other contenders to play on the right flank, like Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke, both of whom should be in the 2026 World Cup England squad.
There is Phil Foden as well, who can play both as a right-winger and the number 10, and Bowen might have a direct face-off with Foden or Madueke for a place in the 2026 World Cup England squad.
However, Bowen is one of the best left-footed players in the country, and this should help his cause massively.
Bowen has scored 10 goals and registered seven assists in 34 matches for West Ham this season. In comparison, Saka has nine goals and six assists in 42 matches for the Gunners, which means that Bowen’s numbers are distinctly better.
Bowen was the chief creative outlet for West Ham in the match against Leeds, along with Adama Traore.
Bowen’s shot crashed into the bar before West Ham scored their first goal off a rebound. The Hammers scored two goals in the injury time to erase a two-goal deficit and take the match into penalties.

2026 World Cup England Squad: Bowen’s Experience From Euro 2024
Bowen was used in the tournament as a substitute. He earned the first of his 22 caps for England in 2022 and has scored a solitary goal for his country so far.
Madueke has earned 10 caps for his country so far and has also only scored one goal for the Three Lions. As of now, Bowen seems to have the better of Madueke in terms of getting selected for the 2026 World Cup England squad.
However, Jarrod Bowen’s selection for the England squad will ultimately depend on whether West Ham are able to avoid relegation.
It is very unusual for a player of a relegated team to get selected to play for his country in a major tournament; however, Bowen is doing his utmost best to ensure that the Hammers remain in the Premier League.
Either way, Jarrod Bowen’s inclusion in the 2026 World Cup England squad will depend on the performance of other players, especially Foden and Madueke.
Should West Ham be able to avoid relegation, Bowen will have a considerable chance of getting selected in the 2026 World Cup England squad.
As of today, Bowen firmly remains on the radar of Thomas Tuchel, the English manager.
Even if he gets selected for the World Cup squad, it will be very difficult for him to break into the starting XI. However, Bowen will not mind if he gets selected and eventually is used as a substitute in this summer’s World Cup.
