The Robert Lewandowski Barcelona exit has come after the Polish striker spent four seasons at the Catalan club.

Lewandowski is going to leave a big void by leaving Barcelona. The 37-year-old Pole will be difficult to replace, and the Catalans know that too well.

There are players like Ferran Torres and Marcus Rashford, who can both play as the No.9, but do not have the great goal-scoring record Lewandowski does. The Robert Lewandowski Barcelona exit is going to come as a major blow for the La Liga side.

Robert Lewandowski Barcelona Exit Comes After Four Successful Seasons

The Robert Lewandowski Barcelona exit is happening after the Pole joined Barca in 2023. In his four seasons with the club, Lewandowski has scored 120 goals in 193 matches and won three La Liga titles. However, winning the UEFA Champions League is something that he has not been able to do at Barca.

In comparison, Torres has scored 65 goals in 207 matches for Barcelona so far, which clearly shows that he is not a top-class No.9. Rashford has only spent a single season at Camp Nou and has scored 14 goals in 49 matches, again not a return befitting of a top striker.

Hence, one can assume safely that Barcelona will have to look outside for a replacement for Lewandowski. They need a striker with the quick reaction time just like the Pole has. He should also be a good finisher to take the Pole’s place after the Robert Lewandowski exit from Barcelona.

Erling Haaland and Lautaro Martinez Have Been on Barcelona’s Radar

Both Haaland and Martinez are experienced, but have age on their side at the same time. Haaland has 162 goals in 198 matches for the Cityzens, while Martinez has 175 goals for Inter in his seven seasons with them.

However, what also needs to be noticed is that both of them are happy at their present clubs. Hence, even if Barcelona go their way with a big offer, they might reject it. Haaland was given a long contract by Manchester City last season, and it is unlikely that he will move away from Etihad anytime soon.

Julian Alvarez is also on Barca’s radar. However, Alvarez has been having a good time at Atletico Madrid and might take a leaf out of teammate Antoine Griezmann’s book, whose move to Barca a few seasons ago turned out to be disappointing.

Therefore, the Robert Lewandowski Barcelona exit might mean that Barca will have to struggle to replace him with an equally prolific striker. Harry Kane of Bayern Munich is there, too, but he seems to be perfectly satisfied at Bayern. Hence, the manhunt for the next Barcelona No.9 should be more difficult for Barcelona.

The Catalans have a brilliant midfield comprising the likes of Raphinha, Fermin Lopez and an exceptional winger like Lamine Yamal. However, in the absence of a good No.9 upfront, they might still find it difficult to win the Champions League.

It now remains to be seen whether the Robert Lewandowski Barcelona exit makes the club adventurous and compel them to spend money in excess of $100 million.

If the Catalans manage to land a top-class striker, they will become stronger undoubtedly. Lewandowski’s performance this season has been below-par for them, and had he been in usual form, the Catalans might have been in a position to win the Champions League.
