The Cole Palmer Chelsea career has yielded good results for him so far. The 24-year-old English midfielder is into his fourth season at the Blues and has done his bit to be counted among the country’s elite footballers. However, Palmer’s exclusion from the World Cup squad earlier this year must have come as a bit of a setback for him, and the time has come for him to prove that Thomas Tuchel’s decision was wrong. Palmer is now one of the more experienced players at Chelsea, and hence, he should have increased responsibility now.

Cole Palmer Chelsea Career: The Midfielder’s Stellar Career At The Blues

The Cole Palmer Chelsea career has seen him play in 134 matches for the club so far, score 56 goals and register 16 assists. The Cole Palmer Chelsea career, however, has not seen him touch the highs of the 2023/24 season, which was his debut campaign for the club, ever since. It was during that season that he scored 25 goals in 45 matches and also won the PFA Young Player of the Year award. In the 2024/25 season, he also had a strong season, as he scored 18 goals for the club and was one of his team’s best players.

However, the last season was not good enough for him, as an injury plagued him to a large extent. Moreover, he had to change his playing position frequently, as the Cole Palmer Chelsea career has seen him play both as a number 10 and a right-winger. The primary reason behind that was that Chelsea did not have a clear idea about how to use Enzo Fernandez in the playing XI. Fernandez played in the double pivot, as the number 10 and the left-winger for the Blues; as a result, Cole Palmer’s position in Chelsea’s starting XI kept changing.

However, he has got much more positional freedom in a 3-4-2-1 for Xabi Alonso’s team this season. Along with Morgan Rogers, he has played behind the striker, Joao Pedro, this season, and that has resulted in an improvement in his form so far. Palmer has two goals and an assist in three matches so far and seems to be enjoying his football once again. Alonso will welcome that, as he should know that he needs Palmer to be in good form if Chelsea are to win the Premier League title. He should encourage Palmer to play free-flowing football, as he has already given him a bigger area to operate in.

Chelsea’s Tough Schedule

The West Londoners do not have any European football to worry about this season and will put their focus on winning the Premier League. They will travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal this weekend, which should prove to be a stiff test for them.

Chelsea have struggled against the Gunners in the recent past and will like to improve the record on Sunday, September 6. The Cole Palmer Chelsea form will be crucial in that regard, and it will be partially his responsibility to put pressure on Riccardo Calafiori, Arsenal’s Italian left-back, to stop the latter’s runs into the final third. It remains to be seen whether the Cole Palmer Chelsea form helps the Blues beat the Gunners.
