Antonio Conte might become the next Manchester United manager if the club’s poor run under Michael Carrick continues. Manchester United have lost three of their six matches across all competitions this season so far, including a recent loss to Man City, and the musical chairs for the post of next Manchester United manager might continue.
Michael Carrick is visibly under some pressure. He did a good job as the interim manager, but then the pressure was less on him, and United mostly played a game every week. Now, he is having to deal with the pressure of playing multiple competitions, and the expectations are high for him as the permanent manager.
Why Antonio Conte Has the Credentials To Be the Next Manchester United Manager
Conte won three Serie A titles as a player with Juventus in a career spanning over a decade. However, more importantly, as a manager, he has won six domestic league titles, including five Serie A and a Premier League title.
The 57-year-old Italian is considered one of the best managers in the world for domestic league competitions, and he has won the titles with four different clubs. What is even more important is that he is known to be a hard task master and commands respect from his players from the very outset.
Conte’s success with various clubs like Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli and Chelsea will almost compel the Manchester United players and supporters to hold him in high regard if he is appointed as the next Manchester United manager.
The Red Devils need a strong external influence to get things back on track again. There still seems to be a lot of reverberation of the hugely successful Sir Alex Ferguson era at the club, with a number of managers getting appointed from among the club’s former players who played under Sir Alex.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ryan Giggs and now Michael Carrick are Ferguson’s wards who have assumed the responsibility of the Manchester United manager in the past.
