The race for the Champions League Golden Boot is already taking shape, with some familiar names and a few surprises making their mark in the opening rounds of the 2026/27 campaign.

Erling Haaland is among the early frontrunners, but there is plenty of time for the standings to change as Europe’s biggest clubs compete for a place in the knockout stages.

For those following the competition from a betting perspective, it is also worth checking the terms of available offers, including those explained by SportsbookReview.

Here are five players who could finish the season as the Champions League Golden Boot winner.

Five Potential Champions League Golden Boot Winners

1. Erling Haaland – Manchester City

Haaland remains one of the strongest contenders for the Champions League Golden Boot, thanks to his remarkable goalscoring record and Manchester City’s ability to create chances.

The Norwegian has already scored four goals in this season’s competition, putting himself among the early frontrunners. With plenty of matches still to come, Haaland should have opportunities to add to his tally.

If Man City progress deep into the knockout stages, he could be difficult to catch. His finishing ability and experience at the highest level make him one of the leading candidates for the award.

2. Harry Kane – Bayern Munich

Harry Kane is another obvious candidate, having made a strong start to the competition.

The England captain has consistently delivered goals at club level, and Bayern Munich’s attacking quality gives him a strong platform to challenge for the award. His ability to score from different positions also makes him difficult for defenders to contain.

Kane will need to maintain his early form against stronger opposition, particularly when the competition reaches the knockout rounds. Nevertheless, he has the experience and finishing ability required to challenge for the Champions League Golden Boot.

3. Bradley Barcola – Liverpool

Bradley Barcola has given himself an early advantage after making an impression in Liverpool’s attack.

The French forward has plenty of pace and the ability to create chances in one-on-one situations. Liverpool’s attacking approach should provide him with opportunities to add to his tally, although consistency will be important if he is to remain among the leading scorers.

He may not be the first name that comes to mind when predicting the Champions League Golden Boot, but his attacking qualities make him worth watching.

4. Ousmane Dembele – Paris Saint-Germain

Ousmane Dembele is another player who could make a serious challenge for the award.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has the pace, movement and technical ability to trouble even the strongest defences. His ability to create chances for himself and his teammates makes him a dangerous opponent in the final third.

If PSG maintain their attacking form and progress deep into the competition, Dembele could remain in contention for the Champions League Golden Boot. His experience of competing at the highest level will also be valuable as the pressure increases.

5. Nicolo Tresoldi – Club Brugge

Nicolo Tresoldi is perhaps the biggest surprise on this list, but his early performances deserve attention.

The Club Brugge forward has shown that he can take his chances on the European stage, giving himself an opportunity to compete with more established names in the scoring race.

Of course, maintaining that form throughout the tournament will be a different challenge. Club Brugge may also find it difficult to progress as far as some of Europe’s bigger clubs.

However, Tresoldi has the chance to establish himself as one of the competition’s breakout players. If he continues scoring regularly, he could become a genuine outsider for the Champions League Golden Boot.

Extra Time Notes

Haaland remains a strong contender for the Champions League Golden Boot, given his goalscoring record and Manchester City’s attacking quality. Kane and Dembele are also serious candidates, while Barcola could benefit from Liverpool’s attacking options.

Tresoldi is the outsider, but a strong start could give him the confidence to challenge more established forwards.

With the knockout stages still to come, there is plenty of time for the standings to change. Ultimately, the winner could depend as much on how far their team progresses as on their individual goalscoring form.
