The Chelsea vs Manchester United Premier League match will take place at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 31. The match is important for Chelsea, but even more so for Manchester United. Any untoward result in the Chelsea vs Manchester United match could cost Michael Carrick his job, because Manchester United’s current form is really poor. Hence, it should be a very interesting match for the Red Devils.

Chelsea vs Manchester United: Three Things To Look Out For

1. Manchester United Making Changes To The Back Four

Manchester United have conceded seven goals in their last two matches across all competitions. Ayden Heaven, the 20-year-old centre-back, who has played in 26 matches for Manchester United to date and did not look very comfortable against Bournemouth, might not start for the Red Devils in the Chelsea vs Manchester United match.

Lisandro Martinez, who had an outburst against the top management of the club a couple of weeks ago, should be making a start for the club against Chelsea. In Luke Shaw’s absence, Diogo Dalot should still start as the left-back and Leny Yoro, whose mistake cost the club against Bournemouth, might get a start as the right-back by default. Harry Maguire should be partnering Martinez at the centre of Manchester United’s defence.

2. Youri Tielemans And Amad Diallo Fighting For A Place In The Starting XI

It can be assumed that Bruno Fernandes will start as the number 10 in the Chelsea vs Manchester United match. That means that if Tielemans is to feature in the starting XI, he will either have to start in the double pivot or on the right flank, as he has played in both positions for the club this season. Carrick might also think of continuing with Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba in the double-pivot.

Amad Diallo is probably a better attacking player than the Belgian and should get the chance to play on the right flank on Saturday in the Chelsea vs Manchester United match. Tielemans has registered three assists in 12 matches so far, and Amad Diallo has a solitary assist in five matches. Clearly, Amad Diallo has not got as many opportunities as Tielemans; however, the Belgian’s crossing ability might earn him a place again in the starting XI.

3. Chelsea Coping With The Absence Of Joao Pedro

Chelsea might once again have to field Emmanuel Emegha in the absence of Joao Pedro. The 23-year-old Dutch striker played his first match of the season against Liverpool at the Carabao Cup a few days ago. As a result, the Blues’ attack will be considerably weakened, as Joao Pedro was among goals before getting injured. It remains to be seen whether Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer are able to compensate for the loss or Emegha manages to shine.

Extra Time Notes

The Chelsea vs Manchester United match is important for more than one reason. It might decide the future of Carrick, and it should also test the ability of Xabi Alonso as a manager after his team was ousted from the Carabao Cup. Chelsea are going to start as the favourites on home turf, but Manchester United might make a desperate attempt at salvaging their season and also saving the manager’s job, with Antonio Conte’s name already doing the rounds.
