5 untouchables in the January window

The January transfer window is just around the corner. This transfer window can make or break club’s such as Aston Villa, Arsenal and Liverpool season. If these clubs can make the necessary signings that will take them to the next level then they will give themselves the best chance of winning the Premier League. While there are some players who will need to leave this upcoming window there are others who are irreplaceable.

At Extra time talk, we look at five players who are untouchable at the club they are currently playing for.

5. Vinicius

Vinicius Junior has been Real Madrid’s best player alongside Jude Bellingham this season. The ex Flamengo winger is arguably the best player in La Liga as he is unplayable on his day. Vinicius has been unfortunate that injuries has limited his impact this season.  The Brazilian could rival Mbappe and Haaland for the balon d’or in the years to come providing he stays clear of injuries.

4.Alejandro Balde

Balde has been a more then adequate replacement for Jordi Alba who joined Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in the summer. The Spanish international overtook Alba as Barcelona’s first choice left back last season. Balde’s performances last campaign earned him a place in the national team’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar. He has the potential to be the best left back in the world if he continues on this trajectory.

3.Warren Zaire Emery

Zaire Emery is the second Frenchman on the list. He burst onto the scene this season for PSG becoming a regular in their starting eleven. His performances this campaign earned him a place in the French national team squad for the November Euro qualifiers against Gibraltar and Greece. The young prodigy is tipped to spend the rest of his career in France which is unsurprising as he is one of the best players to have ever come out of PSG’s academy.

2.Erling Haaland

Haaland has found life relatively easy in the Premier League. The Norwegian scored 36 goals in 35 Premier League games last season and has 14 league goals in 15 games so far this campaign. He was the missing piece that Man City needed to help them win the Champions League and has proven to be a more then adequate Sergio Aguero replacement. If he keeps this goal scoring form up he can rival Kylian Mbappe for the balon d’or in 2024. It will be hard for Man City to replace him as very few strikers in Europe can put up his numbers.

1.Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe was heavily linked to Real Madrid this summer as the Spanish giants were looking for a Benzema replacement . The move for the Frenchman did not materialise as after holding constructive talks with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Mbappe signed a one-year deal until 2025, with a clause guaranteeing that he can be sold in 2024. The French captain is more important then ever for PSG as in the summer they had sold both Neymar and Lionel Messi. Mbappe is one of if not the best player in the world and proved this when he almost won the last World Cup final for France on his own.
