A rejuvenated Arsenal reignites hopes of a title triumph

Arsenal thrashed Newcastle United 4-1 last Saturday to continue their superb run in the Premier League. Prior to that, they had demolished Burnley 5-0 . The Gunners are now in the third position in the league table with 58 points from 26 matches.

However, more importantly, they have now won their last six Premier League matches, scoring 25 goals and conceding only three in the process. This much-improved performance for the last few weeks has reignited the hope for a league title after two decades among the Gunners’ supporters.

A few players in great form for Arsenal

Bukayo Saka is back to his best for the Gunners. The 21-year-old English winger scored a brace against West Ham and now has 16 goals and 11 assists this season, making him one of the most lethal players in Europe. Saka was a constant menace to West Ham with his probing runs and remains a handful for any opposition.
The same goes for Gabriel Martinelli, who has also been very good for the Gunners with his pace and ability to find the net. Martin Ødegaard also seems to have put his bad form behind and has played really well in the last few matches.
Then there is Declan Rice, who scored once and registered two assists against his former club West Ham. Rice is proving to be the signing of the season in England with one commanding performance after another.
One must also reserve some praise for Leandro Trossard, who has scored 10 goals in 31 matches for the Gunners while often playing as the centre forward. He has not started often for them, but has been able to make the most of the opportunities, which have come his way.
Moreover, the ability of the Arsenal centre-backs to score with headers from set-pieces has proved to be crucial, too. Both Gabriel and William Saliba have scored important goals using their aerial prowess, as the Gunners remain the most dangerous team from set-piece situations.

Manchester City’s clashes with Liverpool and Arsenal are going to be the key

With only five points separating the top three teams with 12 matches to go, it is very difficult to predict which way the title race is going to go. However, one can safely assume that Manchester City’s clashes with Liverpool and Arsenal are going to be absolutely vital ones in determining the eventual winners.
Liverpool are going to face Manchester City on 10 Match and will square off against Arsenal on 31 March.
Should Manchester City be able to win both those games, it will be very difficult for any other team to win the league. However, with their rejuvenated form, the Gunners will fancy their chances of putting it past the Cityzens.
It is not going to be an easy task by any means, as Manchester City always seem to be able to elevate their performance during the second half of the season, just as they had done last season to pip Arsenal.
However, it is very important for Mikel Arteta’s team to keep the belief and march confidently towards their ultimate goal. It remains to be seen how well they are able to do it for the next three months or so.
