Barcelona vs Paris St. Germain Match Preview
After a thrilling first leg last week, Barcelona welcomes Paris St. Germain to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, looking to return to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League.
It has been five years since Barcelona last made the semifinals of the Champions League, ultimately losing to eventual winners Liverpool. Since then, they only made the quarterfinals of the competition once, back in 2019/20.
With El Clásico set to take place next weekend, the Catalans could use a result in order to head into the match full of confidence. Xavi’s side heads into the match off the back of a 1-0 win at relegation threatened Cádiz, with the Champions League their last realistic chance of lifting a trophy this term.
PSG had a full week to prepare for the return match, as their league game at Lorient was postponed until next week. With that in mind, Luis Enrique will have a near-fully fit squad to call upon as they look to overturn a 3-2 deficit from the first leg.
Les Parisiens will be looking for their fourth semifinal appearance in the European Cup/Champions League, and first one in four years. After back-to-back eliminations in the last 16, they finally got past the first knockout round this time around.

The all-time head-to-head between these two teams has always been tight, with Barcelona winning six of the 14 previous matches to PSG’s four (plus four draws). Moreover, the first leg was PSG’s first defeat this calendar year and since a 2-1 reverse to AC Milan in the group stage back in November.
However, Barca is also in good form, having not lost since late January. Despite a couple of injuries – plus suspensions to Sergi Roberto and Andreas Christensen – there should be enough quality in the squad to hold on to their narrow advantage.

In the eight games since that goalless stalemate, six of the matches saw them score multiple times.
