Barcelona’s Brilliant Front Three: The Key to Title Glory?

Barcelona recently came back from a 2-0 deficit to stun Atletico Madrid 4-2 in a La Liga match.

The Catalan giants are level with Real Madrid in terms of points at the top of the table, but Real have played a match more.

The battle for the La Liga title is expected to go down the wire. Meanwhile, another title charge is brewing, as Barcelona are set to play Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League next month.

Amid the prospects of winning multiple titles, the Blaugrana’s run this season has largely been defined by their fantastic front-three.

Barcelona’s Front Three Chasing the Legacy of MSN and BBC

Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal are all in very good form this season. They have 75 goals between them so far this season.

In the 2014-15 season, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale scored an amazing 100 goals between them.

In the subsequent season, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar scored a whopping 131 goals between them, which is the highest combined total achieved by any front-three in a season ever.

The current Barcelona trio still must score a good 50-odd goals more within the next two months to reach that milestone.

Both the BBC and MSN trios managed to win the Champions League for their respective teams, and it remains to be seen whether the current Barcelona one can follow suit.

Whether they achieve that or not, their impact on Barcelona’s success has been undeniable.

Raphinha has been one of the best players in the world this season, having notched up 14 assists.

Lewandowski keeps on building his unquestionable legacy as one of the most prolific No. 9s in world football and Yamal is simply amazing as a 17-year-old footballer.

Yamal has 13 goals and 14 assists this season already, which makes him one of the most successful teenagers in the game in recent times. He keeps reminding us of a young Messi with his brilliant left foot.

The fantastic form of the triumvirate means that Ferran Torres has not been getting much game time, despite having scored 13 goals so far himself.

As a result, Barca have been scoring goals for fun this season. However, all of that will look meaningless if they fail to win a trophy.

The formidable Real Madrid stand in their way towards the La Liga title and winning the UCL is going to be as difficult as ever.

Barcelona Enter the Final Stretch of Their La Liga Campaign

Barca will play Osasuna and Girona in their remaining two matches this season.

They will play against Real Madrid on May 11 and the league title may just be decided by then. If it is not, then El Clasico will have an additional attraction at the fag end of the season.

The Catalans have not won the Champions League title since 2015. Hansi Flick will be desperately wanting to end the decade-long drought for the club this season.

The German manager has already won the Champions League with Bayern Munich and will want to repeat the act with the La Liga giants.
