The Citizens travel to the AmEx after a crucial 1-0 win in the FA Cup semifinals against Chelsea. On Saturday we saw a noticeably tired team that had little more than 48 hours of rest after a physically and mentally draining 120 minutes. Nonetheless, this was just enough to get over the line and they will play a new FA Cup final against rivals Manchester United.
The FA Cup game meant the postponement of the Premier League weekend game against Tottenham, leaving the reining champions already one game behind both Arsenal and Liverpool. The two of them managed to win their games on the weekend and will play again before the clash against Brighton meaning Pep Guardiola’s team could find themself four points behind the leaders with two games in hand leaving them almost no margin for error.
Manchester City faces some issues ahead of the game with Erling Haaland and Phill Foden missing out on the last team practice. Besides having an amazing squad with a depth no other team has, these two players could be key for the title run-in. Haaland is currently the league’s top goal scorer with 20 goals and Foden is the team’s second-best in this area contributing 14 goals himself. Together they add to a total of 34 goals representing almost 45% of City´s Premier League goals.
Brighton still has a fighting chance of securing European football next season, but it will take a hell of a final run starting on Thursday. Roberto De Zerbi has produced some great football this season despite losing key players like Alexis MacAlister and Moises Caicedo to transfers and others like Kaoru Mitoma to injury. The Italian manager does not resign his style of play no matter the circumstances and that will provide a great game against the league’s top team.

Brighton vs Manchester City Prediction
Draw at 4.75
The present and the recent history point towards a Manchester City win, with the Citizens beating the Seagulls in four of their five last encounters. However, a team like Brighton that can keep the ball and move it around creating danger to the opposition is the type of team City most struggle against so do not be surprised to see the title favourites drop points away.
Brighton vs Manchester City Tips
Both teams to score at 1.66
Two teams that need the win for their respective targets and are used to playing attacking football seem like a guarantee for goals. Also keep in mind that in five of the last six matchups between them both teams were able to score.
