Chelsea Accelerate Pursuit For 48 G/A Versatile Winger Signing From Premier League Rivals

Chelsea are getting ready to begin their 2025/26 Premier League campaign on a high note when they host Crystal Palace in the first gameweek of the new campaign.

Despite all that, the Blues are still working hard on strengthening certain aspects of their squad and seem to be intent on bolstering their frontline with the signing of a new winger in Alejandro Garnacho.

However, they face some tricky negotiations with Manchester United to get this deal over the line.

How Much Will Chelsea Need To Pay for Alejandro Garnacho’s Signing From Manchester United?

The London heavyweights opted against signing Jadon Sancho permanently from Manchester United in the 2025 summer window after being disappointed with his loan spell in the 2024/25 campaign.

However, it’s now being reported that Chelsea have stepped up negotiations with the Red Devils for the signing of Alejandro Garnacho before the end of this transfer window.

They are now involved in direct talks with the Manchester United hierarchy in an attempt to get the deal over the line.

It’s also being claimed that Garnacho has made it clear that he only wants to join Chelsea in the 2025 summer window and has agreed on terms over his possible contract with them.

Now, the Blues are currently in negotiations with the Red Devils over a transfer fee, and there is a growing expectation that Garnacho will become a new Chelsea player this summer. This comes with the Argentine winger having reportedly given his club an ultimatum for them to sanction his sale or risk having him sit on the sidelines for the next year.

However, the West London club are not going to face that easy a task in negotiating a low transfer fee for Garnacho.

It’s been reported that the Red Devils have set a transfer fee demand of around £50 million to sell their young winger, which would be quite the formidable fee for Chelsea, considering how they’ve spent big money on multiple signings in the 2025 summer window.

What Can Garnacho Bring to Chelsea’s Frontline?

Chelsea are advancing on their pursuit to sign Garnacho after having seen him produce some really eye-catching performances for Manchester United over the past few seasons.

He has proven his versatility in being able to play in multiple roles, with Garnacho naturally being a speedy left-winger, but can also play in the right-wing role if necessary.

The 21-year-old has been a member of the Red Devils senior squad for quite a few years now and has made 144 appearances for them, managing 48 goal contributions (26 goals, 22 assists).

Garnacho also boasted some impressive metrics in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign for his side, averaging 3.61 shot attempts, 3.63 shot-creating actions and 5.79 progressive carries per 90 minutes to torment defenders.

In comparison, Sancho averaged just 1.22 shot attempts, 3.51 shot-creating actions and 5.20 progressive carries per 90 minutes in the Premier League season.

he departed Noni Madueke, who was sold by Chelsea to Arsenal, averaged 3.54 shot attempts, 3.50 shot-creating actions, and 6.82 progressive carries last season.

Garnacho’s age, at 21, makes him an attractive option for the Blues as they feel that he can blossom into a fiery winger for them.

Garnacho might face stiff competition for places at Chelsea after the arrivals of new wingers Estevao Willian, and Jamie Gittens, but he seems intent on moving to the London club to start a new chapter in his career and prove his doubters wrong.
