After West Ham United’s Premier League relegation, the Crysencio Summerville transfer has seen him become the next player to leave the Hammers. With a huge fee of up to £60 million, the Dutch winger has joined the Saudi Pro League with Al Hilal.
The 24-year-old also saw his price tag rise after his appearances at the World Cup with the Netherlands, as the Dutch national team bowed out at the Round of 32 stage, but Summerville impressed with two goals and two assists.

Al Hilal won the race for the Dutch winger after AS Roma and Manchester United both targeted the 24-year-old; however, the Italian club had a bid rejected and the Red Devils failed to progress with their intent following the return of Marcus Rashford.
On the money front, it is reported that the Crysencio Summerville transfer will see the winger rake in close to €350k a week in Saudi Arabia, including bonuses. At West Ham, the figure per week was significantly less; however, the quality of football that he will be up against will be significantly worse.
With Joao Cancelo set to sign for FC Barcelona permanently, the winger should slot straight into the squad and not have problems with being registered under the strict Saudi Pro League rules for players outside of the country.
Malcom, Darwin Nunez and Karim Benzema are all of the foreign attacking options for Al-Hilal, but with Benzema’s injury that sidelined him at the back end of the 2025/26 season, it is still not confirmed whether it will be the Frenchman as the number nine or whether Nunez will return into the role of the starting striker.
Al-Hilal captain Salem Al-Dawsari has also been struck down with injury, as the 34-year-old has undergone surgery for a knee issue which will see Crysencio Summerville utilised as the starting left-winger for the beginning of the season at the minimum.

The 24-year-old was announced by Dutch head coach Ronald Koeman as one of the 26 players in the Netherlands squad for the 2026 World Cup, even though he was yet to make his debut for the senior team.
He made his debut against Algeria in a 1-0 loss, and then played a full 90 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Uzbekistan, where he won a penalty that Cody Gakpo dispatched, with the Netherlands winning 2-1.
Into the 2026 World Cup, Summerville shone with his breathtaking dribbling pace and finishing ability. He netted against Japan, scored and assisted against Sweden, and then was utilised as a substitute against Tunisia.

In the shootout, the winger did miss the decisive penalty that would have given the Netherlands the advantage, and the Oranje bowed out of the tournament after Ismael Saibari’s penalty.

After starting his career in the Netherlands, the Crysencio Summerville transfer to England saw him gain interest from clubs as a rapid and skilful winger for Leeds United. Initially failing to make an impact, it was when the Yorkshire club were relegated to the second tier that everything started to fall into place for the Dutchman.

West Ham was the gamble for Summerville, and once again, he endured a rocky start in his first season with only one goal and two assists, but an improved second season saw him make strides forward as a player.
In total, the winger managed 34 games in all competitions with seven goals and three assists, but with West Ham relegated, his 2026 World Cup performances needed to help him to remain in top-flight football. He chose the Saudi Pro League, which, on the face of things, is a bad move in terms of development, but will benefit his style of play a lot.
With a combination of pace and trickery, the Crysencio Summerville transfer will help him get the goals and assists that he craves every week, and with the winger still only 24, a two-year spell before returning to Europe could still be on the cards.
