A Bundesliga giant has Eddie Nketiah eyed as a potential transfer with the Arsenal youngster struggling for game time at the Emirates.

Arsenal Youngster Proves To Be Hot Property
Eddie Nketiah has not played a single minute of football in the Premier League this season. The 22-year-old has reportedly failed to agree new terms with the Gunners. Amongst the sides keen on picking him up are German outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach as reported by The Sun.
The Englishman has scored a tremendous 16 goals in 17 appearances for England at U21 level across the last three years. But Aubameyang’s revival this season has seen Eddie Nketiah granted no opportunities.
Monchengladbach Keen on Arsenal Reject Nketiah
German side Borussia Mönchengladbach are said to be keeping an eye on Nketiah. Adi Hütter’s team are struggling for goals, managing just 13 – the second least in the Bundesliga top half.
Arsenal have offered Nketiah a new contract. However, the club have failed to convince him, according to reports.
Nketiah’s current contract expires in the summer of 2022. This means he will be allowed to discuss a free transfer with clubs outside England in January.
Down The Pecking Order
It appears Mikel Arteta has placed Folarin Balogun ahead of Nketiah in his striking hierarchy at the Emirates. Arsenal rewarded Balogun with a new deal until 2025 and the 20-year-old has played in the first team. Meanwhile, the club have frozen Eddie Nketiah out.
Mönchengladbach forwards Breel Embolo and Alassane Pléa have failed to impress this season. The club could surely offer Nketiah more first-team minutes.
Domestic Interest in Eddie Nketiah
Aston Villa are interested in the striker, Birmingham Live reports. The Midlanders have recently sacked boss Dean Smith.
Former club Leeds United may also be in for him, says Leeds Live. Bielsa’s men have struggled this season. Eddie Nketiah’s loan move to Leeds failed to impress the fans last time. However, Leeds’ star striker Bamford has been out with an ankle injury since September. Nketiah may see this as an opportunity for plenty of game time.
English clubs will still be required to pay a fee for his services. However, a loan until the summer could be an option for domestic sides keen on extra firepower in January.
With Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Folarin Balogun stealing the limelight, this could be Nketiah’s time for a fresh start elsewhere.
