Erling Haaland’s form for his club, Manchester City, is simply superb at the moment. He scored a brace in the Cityzens’ 2-2 draw with AS Monaco in a UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 1.
Haaland’s brace was not enough to win the match for his team, but Man City were a bit unlucky in that regard, as they hit the crossbar twice on the day.
Erling Haaland’s Goals for Man City
Haaland has scored 11 goals in eight matches this season, across all competitions. Haaland now has 135 goals in 154 matches for Manchester City – an incredible record.
At this rate, he should reach 200 goals for the club by the end of next season. Sergio Aguero remains the highest goal-scorer in the history of Manchester City, with 260 goals in 390 matches for them.
Haaland’s goals for Man City come at a simply unbelievable frequency. Haaland now has better ball control as well and offers more in terms of link-up play. Scoring more than 200 goals would take Haaland into the territory of the likes of Aguero, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane. However, by the end of next season, the 25-year-old Norwegian will have completed only five seasons at the club.
Most of the other teams now know that they cannot stop Haaland from scoring. Hence, they try to hurt Manchester City in some other way. That is a huge advantage to have, and often turns out to be the difference Manchester City have with other teams.
It is a bit surprising that Phil Foden is Manchester City’s next highest goal-scorer with only two goals this season so far. That means that Haaland has contributed the lion’s share of the goals scored by his team, which is what Pep Guardiola must have expected from him.

Erling Haaland’s Form and Its Impact on Man City
Erling Haaland’s form should continue to be good for the sake of his team. With Liverpool showing signs of weakness in their defence and Arsenal having been pipped at the post a number of times, the Cityzens are firmly in contention for the Premier League title.
With the exit of Kevin De Bruyne, it would not be an overstatement to say that Haaland is Manchester City’s most important player now, with Rodri, Foden and Bernardo Silva following him.
The Norwegian must, therefore, keep his form intact for the sake of his team. He might not experience a 50-goal season like he did in his debut one for Man City, but anything close to that will not be bad either.
Pep Guardiola must ensure that his most potent weapon is rested judiciously and can be used extensively in key matches. It might not be a bad idea to rest him in the initial rounds of the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
Haaland should, however, be prepared to go all guns blazing in Premier League and Champions League matches. He has featured in a treble-winning side once for his club. He might enjoy doing it once again this time around for Manchester City.
