Hot or Not Picks of Fantasy Football Premier League – Week One Preview

Hot Choices for Fantasy Football

Adam Smith – £4.5m

The Bournemouth man could one of the bargains for the defenders. Eddie Howe is known for his defensive set-up and they especially keep teams out at home. For the opening game, the Cherries entertain newcomers Cardiff City. Neil Warnock has failed to massively improve his squad and lacks a quality Premier League striker. So with Bournemouth at home and facing Cardiff, Adam Smith could be a surprise choice.

Heung Min-Son – £8.5m

With Tottenham facing late fitness tests for nine of their World Cup squads, the squad might look a bit deflated when they face Newcastle on Saturday. So it will no doubt be Heung Min-Son’s chance to shine. After such an impressive season, the Korean could be pivotal for Spurs in front of goal on Saturday, especially as Newcastle defence seems a bit empty at the moment after Florine Lejeune’s injury.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – £6.5m

Another cheap choice for a fantasy manager. Aleksandar Mitrovic finally escaped Newcastle after getting his dream move back to Fulham. After he joined the London side in January on loan he went onto score 12 goals in 17 games. With Fulham’s summer recruitment, they could be a force to be reckoned with. No doubt the Serbian will Fulham’s talisman and could start adding to his tally against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Not Choices for Fantasy Football

Harry Kane – £12m

Might be a surprise choice for many. But due to his late arrival for pre-season after his England heroics, his fitness might not be up to scratch against Newcastle on Saturday. Also, there is the dreaded August hoodoo. Since his professional debut, Harry Kane has never scored a goal in August so why would you risk for £12m?

Paul Pogba – £8m

Paul Pogba is another reason player to suffer from a late arrival to pre-season. The 25-year-old was part of the French team that lifted the World Cup, scoring in the final. After only arriving back on Monday, Pogba will face a late fitness test to be fit for the Manchester United game on Friday.

Ryan Sessegnon – £6.5m

One of England’s biggest talents in football. However, it will be his first appearance in Premier League, despite scoring 17 goals in the Championship last season. Later in the season, he could be a wildcard for your team as he gains experience at the top division. But due to his inexperience, it might be best to avoid the Fulham man for the first couple of game.
