Injury Updates to Note

  • Kai Havertz (Arsenal): German Kai Havertz is set to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury during Dubai training camp – a big blow to Arsenal who have struggled for attacking strength in recent years.
  • Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal): Gabriel Martinelli came off early in Arsenal’s 2-1 loss over Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, further adding to Arsenal’s attacking woes. The Brazilian winger has also sustained a hamstring injury, but is still being assesed.
  • Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea): On the West side of London has also seen their forward go down with a hamstring injury. Chelsea’s second top scorer Nicolas Jackson picked his injury during Chelsea’s 2-1 win over West Ham. He was rested during the fourth round of the FA Cup. However, Chelsea have learned the seriousness of his injury, ruling him out for weeks/months, with an April return being the target.

Top Transfer Targets

  • Chris Wood, Anthony Elanga & Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest): If there’s any Fantasy Football manager without either of the three, I hope you enjoy life at the bottom of your mini-league. Nottingham Forest are the most in-form team next to Liverpool this season. And no one should hesitate when bringing Chris Wood (£7.1m), Anthony Elanga (£5.3m) or Matz Sels (£5m) into their FPL squads.
  • Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Trent Aexander-Arnold (Liverpool): Liverpool have another double gameweek this GW, this time facing both Wolves and Aston Villa. Cody Gakpo (£7.6m) and Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) are likely to score, or at the least provide assists. Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m) may also add to his tally of goal contributions.
  • Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa): Morgan Rogers (£5.6m) owners will enjoy an Aston Villa double gameweek as Aston Villa host both Ipswich and Liverpool. With Ollie Watkins unlikely to feature after picking up a groin injury against Wolves, Rogers is FPL managers’ next safe bet.
  • Justin Kluviert (Bournemouth): The Cherries will face bottom of the table Southampton. Expect Justin Kluviert (£5.7m) to return to his strong form, bouncing back from a loss against Liverpool.

Players to Hold/Bench

  • Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa): Awaiting an injury update from Villa on how long Watkins will be out would be best, before making a jump to sell one of the most in-form Premier League forwards.

Players to Sell

  • Kai Havertz (Arsenal): It goes without saying that the Arsenal forward should be excluded from your FPL plans for the rest of the season.
  • Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea): If you kept holding on to the hope that Jackson would return to his earlier goal-scoring form, his hamstring injury has now officially killed that dream. You can sell him until further notice.

Captaincy Picks

  • Mohamed Salah (Liverpool): After delivering mouthwatering points last week during his double gameweek, Mohamed Salah is back for more. With another double gameweek ahead, it’s safe to say the Egyptian King is about to make your Fantasy Football dreams come true – again. And if you didn’t Triple Captain him last week, it might be time to take the risk this time around.

Strategic Considerations

Monitor Press Conferences: Last-minute injury updates and team news can significantly impact your decisions. Stay informed to make timely transfers.

By staying updated on the latest news and being strategic with your Fantasy Football transfers and captaincy choices, you can navigate the challenges of Matchweek 25 and boost your FPL performance.
