Five Premier League Players Rumoured to Be Leaving Their Club in January

The January transfer window is nearly here, and with it comes the usual flurry of rumours linking Premier League players with potential exits.

Across the division, clubs are preparing for business – whether to strengthen squads or balance books – and certain players find themselves at the centre of speculation. Much like football fans analysing transfer odds or browsing the best casinos for smart picks, January often becomes a game of calculated risk for clubs and players alike.

Here are five Premier League players rumoured to be on the move in the 2026 January transfer window.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

Liverpool’s talismanic forward, Mohamed Salah, has been at the centre of intense transfer talk ahead of January.

The 32-year-old Egyptian has reportedly fallen out of favour at Anfield under manager Arne Slot after a series of benchings late in 2025.

Rumours suggest that, once the January window opens and the Egyptian is back from AFCON, Salah and Liverpool could discuss his future – especially if interest arrives from clubs willing to match his profile and ambition.

A mid-season exit for one of the Premier League’s most iconic players would be a major shake-up.

Kobbie Mainoo – Manchester United

England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is another player attracting January exit talk. The young United midfielder has struggled for consistent starts this season, prompting speculation about a move that would guarantee more game time.

Mainoo reportedly pushed for a loan in the summer and, despite United blocking it, January could provide another opportunity – potentially even abroad – to develop ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Axel Disasi – Chelsea

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after falling down the pecking order under manager Enzo Maresca’s arrival.

The centre-back spent part of last season on loan at Aston Villa, and although a permanent move failed to materialise in the summer, reports now suggest a January departure is likely. Interest has come from both the Premier League and Europe as Chelsea look to trim their squad and recoup funds.

Brennan Johnson – Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham’s winger Brennan Johnson has been in and out of the starting lineup this season, and that has sparked talk of an exit.

After a breakthrough campaign last year, his reduced role under the current Spurs setup has prompted clubs – especially Crystal Palace – to consider January bids. Johnson’s pace and creativity make him an attractive option for sides looking to boost their attacking options mid-season.

Antoine Semenyo – Bournemouth

Bournemouth’s standout performer, Antoine Semenyo, is arguably the most talked-about potential departure come the January transfer window.

The Ghanaian winger has impressed in the Premier League, and his reported release clause has alerted several big clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

Semenyo’s combination of goals and assists this season has made him one of the most sought-after talents outside the traditional top six. A move in January could be imminent if clubs are willing to trigger his clause.
