Liverpool’s form continues to be inconsistent, but Wirtz cannot be blamed for that any longer.
His propensity to score goals with shots from inside the opposition penalty box has stood out repeatedly in the recent past.

Even when Mohamed Salah was absent, and Alexander Isak has been sidelined through injury, Liverpool have not found it very difficult to score goals in their recent matches, largely thanks to Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
