Forward Targets Are a Priority for Juventus

Serie A giants Juventus have ended their interest in star Monaco midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni. Italian news site Calciomercato claim their finances and desire to focus their transfer window elsewhere is behind the change of heart.

Juve, under the leadership of Massimiliano Allegri, aren’t performing well and find themselves 7th in Serie A at the time of writing. The Italian titans are said to be turning their attention to Fiorentina forward Dušan Vlahović.

Juventus currently see none of their players in the division’s top 10 goalscorers so far this season. Fiorentina’s Serbia star is top of the leaderboard with 12 just 15 games into the campaign.

Loan Move Not an Option for Monaco as They Look to Cash In

Additionally, the Italian report claims Monaco are unwilling to let their star man go on loan. Juventus currently have Morata, Kean, Chiesa and Locatelli all on temporary deals. But the French side are keen to cash in on their midfield maestro sooner rather than later.

Juventus Ending Their Interest Poses Opportunity for Premier League Sides

The shift of focus from Tchouaméni to Vlahović is set to open opportunities for Premier League giants, according to The Sun. Chelsea are keen on the Frenchman who has been valued at £42 million by Monaco.

Tuchel’s midfield is currently stacked with Kanté, Kovačić, Jorginho and Saúl Ñíguez all in defensive roles in the middle of the park. But the Blues have their eyes on the 21-year-old.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano told Talk Chelsea that the club “really appreciate (him)” and “have always been in touch with his agent”.

Manchester United is another potential English destination for him. The arrival of Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford may see the club change their transfer policy.

The German coach has a track record of signing and developing younger talent. Plus, United’s thinness in defensive midfield has been spoken of for some time.
