Kosovan Milot Rashica: “Don’t sleep on me!”

Milot Rashica is a Kosovan attacking midfielder, born 28th June 1996. He is currently playing for SV Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga. Raschica has had an impressive start to his professional career.

Key stats

Raschica started his professional career at KF Vushtrria in Kosovo. The Kosovan scored nine goals in 21 appearances and ended the season by winning the 2013/14 Football Superleague of Kosovo.

During his time in the Netherlands, he made 100 appearances, racking up 15 goals and 24 assists. He also helped Vitesse Arnheim win the Dutch Cup in his second season.

He made is Werder debut in the 2-1 win against Schalke on 3 February 2018, but he didn’t open his account until a month later in a 3-1 victory over Cologne. He scored eight goals and four assists in 17 league matches during the second half of 2018/19.

Internationally, Raschica switched allegiances to his native Kosovo in 2016. He made his debut in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying draw with Finland. He waited to score his first goal in a UEFA Nations League meeting with the Faroe Islands.

The Alexis Sanchez type?

It has to be said that there are some similarities between Raschica and Alexis. For example, his ability to play across the front line and ice-cold finishing. But, this is not all to his game. He loves a set-piece goal, too.

Expensive?

He’s an old-fashioned winger. Though the implications of the pandemic COVID-19 may skew the fee, Raschica could be bought for half his market value. Therefore, he could be available for about €29m.

Worth the tussle?

Yes!

“I’m never satisfied. I always want more. When I’ve scored 10 goals, I want to score 15. When I have scored 15, I want 20. As a striker, you always want to score as many goals as possible,” he said in an interview with DPA (via Bulinews).
