Paris Saint-Germain has brilliantly reinforced their squad this summer. But, the latest addition of Lionel Messi has made Kylian Mbappe rethink his future, who is reportedly planning to ask the club for the Real Madrid move.
Real Madrid is currently undergoing the rough patch. The pandemic has affected every club, but the likes of these giants suffered more. The European Super League was meant to be their saviour, which many other top European clubs had also signed.
However, the backlash of the fans was not expected which resulted in the majority of the agreed clubs exiting the plan. Nine out of the 12 clubs recently rejoined the European Club Association. However, Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus remain loyal to the halted competition.
Mbappe Wants to Leave PSG
The Frenchman’s Move to Real Madrid imminent
The commencement of this league would have added a huge chunk of cash into the clubs’ accounts. This would have temporarily cleared their financial problems. Moreover, Los Blancos could have completed the signing of Mbappe without any complications. Although Florentino Perez remains surprisingly positive about the competition, that plan won’t help them land their target anytime soon.
Kylian Mbappe came into the picture after his breakthrough season with AS Monaco. From scoring his first hat-trick at the age of 18 to winning the Ligue-1 title with Monaco, he grabbed attention from many clubs.
And PSG did not think for a second before landing him. They initially got him on a loan spell. The performance Mbappe put up that year made the club sign him for €180 million. He became the most expensive teenager and the second most expensive player behind his teammate Neymar in the process.
Since joining them permanently, Mbappe has been the league’s top scorer three years in a row. He has played a crucial role in the club journey to becoming a dominant force.
Mbappe had expressed where he would join in the future. Real Madrid was his dream club and it was clear that a move to Spain would be happening either way. It was just a matter of when. Before joining PSG, a move to Madrid was close, but not being guaranteed match-time made him chose otherwise.
But as of now, it looks like he is edging closer to his dream club. The arrival of Messi has created many uncertainties. Because of which it is reported that the 22-year-old forward will be asking for a meeting with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to request the negotiation of his move to Real Madrid.
PSG is a Threatening Force This Season
No one can pull a transfer window like the French giants. By paying only €70 million, PSG has landed the signatures of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, Gini Wijnaldum and Lionel Messi.
The club has been trying its best to win the prestigious Champions League. However, the closest they have reached is the finals, which they lost. Therefore, they are hoping to break that curse with the addition of three Champions League-winning players.
The team will be unplayable if Mauricio Pochettino decides to play all these signings together. The attack will be tenacious and the defence will be immovable. PSG have already begun their new season with an entertaining 4-2 win over Strasbourg.
