The Lamine Yamal injury is bad news for FC Barcelona, as the 18-year-old earned and scored from the penalty spot to guide Barca to a victory over Celta Vigo.
With that win, Barca maintained a nine-point lead over arch-rivals Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table as they eye yet another Spanish top-flight title.
With six rounds of matches to go, Barcelona are the odds-on favourite to win their third La Liga title in five seasons, and should they achieve that goal, the Lamine Yamal injury will prove to be a minor inconvenience.
Lamine Yamal Injury: The Barca Starboy Pulling In Some Big Numbers
Yamal is into his third complete season at Barca and has played in 151 matches for the Catalan giants.
He has scored 49 goals for the Blaugrana so far, of which 24 have been this season alone. Adding to his impressive goal tally, Yamal also has 15 assists in 45 matches this season, which confirms his status as one of the best players in the world.
Lamine Yamal’s brilliance is evident from the way he plays the game. He is one of those players who likes to have the ball at his feet, is an exceptional dribbler, and he is blessed with great speed that he uses to waltz through the opposition defence.
The Barca starboy is now probably the best right-winger in the world, with only Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise as serious competition in that regard.
He remains Barca’s primary creative outlet and reminds one of a certain Lionel Messi with his unrelenting desire to break open defences with his scorching solo runs.
There is another aspect of Messi’s game that Yamal has inculcated into his own.
He can find his teammates with accurate short passes after getting into the penalty box, as he uses the outside of his left foot frequently to play those lateral passes.
As a result, it becomes very tough for the opposition defenders to stop him from impacting the game. Hence, the Lamine Yamal injury will give the defenders of Barca’s upcoming opponents some hope of taking points off them.

Lamine Yamal Injury: A Third La Liga Title In The Making
Yamal will look to add to the two La Liga titles he already has with Barcelona.
The exit from the UEFA Champions League will make him even more desperate for a La Liga triumph, and it will be a tremendous achievement to win three La Liga titles as a teenager, a feat which even Messi could not achieve.
The comparisons with Messi seem inevitable, especially because the Argentine played in the same position as Yamal. However, to have a long career like Messi has had, Yamal will have to stay injury-free and not allow his standards to drop.
However, matching the feats of Messi will be the last thing on Yamal’s mind. As of now, he should only be focusing on winning as many titles for Barcelona as possible.
Despite his tender age, Yamal already has considerable experience under his belt, having already gone past the milestone of 150 matches for the club. His brilliance should continue to do wonders for the Catalans in the future as well.
The scary thing is that the young Spaniard is yet to improve as a player before reaching his prime. At this rate, Lamine Yamal’s brilliance is going to further increase and help Barcelona achieve even more on the pitch.
The Lamine Yamal injury means that Barca will have to rely on Ferran Torres to play on the right side of the pitch, as Raphinha is also recovering from an injury himself. It still seems unlikely that the Lamine Yamal injury will prevent Barcelona from winning the La Liga title.
