Liverpool Forwards Propelling The Reds

Liverpool thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 in a UEFA Champions League match at Anfield last Tuesday, November 5. Luis Díaz scored a hat-trick and Cody Gakpo added another to propel the Reds to a resounding victory.

Liverpool is at the top of the Premier League table as well with 25 points from 10 matches, which means that Arne Slot has had a dream start as the Liverpool manager. With the form of both Manchester City and Arsenal plummeting, Slot will dream of being the first manager since Antonio Conte to win the Premier League title in his first season in England.

Liverpool’s forwards are in very good form:

Mohamed Salah continues to amaze as the right winger this season as well and already has nine goals in 16 matches. Díaz also has nine goals and Gakpo has six more. Even Diogo Jota, who has made 10 appearances this season so far, has scored four goals. With Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli not being at their absolute best this season, the combination of Salah and Díaz is easily the best combination of wingers in England at the moment.

Thus, Slot does not have to worry about the goals for his team. Liverpool has been performing quite well in Europe as well, having notched up wins over AC Milan and Bologna prior to its win over Leverkusen. The Reds also have the highest goal difference (13) among all Premier League teams.

Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have given the team enough solidity in midfield and the likes of Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai have chipped in with decent performances at times. The only concern for Slot should be the form of Darwin Núñez, who has scored only a couple of goals so far this season. However, even he has contributed significantly defensively, which goes on to show that the players are giving their best for the team.

Slot carrying on the good work of his predecessor:

Jurgen Klopp, Slot’s predecessor at Anfield won a Champions League and a Premier League title during his nine-year-long stay as the Liverpool manager. The 57-year-old German also reached a couple of Champions League finals with Liverpool and kept giving Manchester City a stiff fight.

Thus, Slot’s job was not easy to start with. However, he seems to have taken to it like a duck takes to water or someone with money to burn at a casino game like https://plinkogames.cc/. The transition has been pretty seamless, much to the relief of the Liverpool faithful.

The Reds will take on Aston Villa next weekend and will then take on Southampton after the international break. The match against Villa should be very absorbing one and will further test the quality of Slot’s men.

The Reds also have a big match against Real Madrid on the cards in the last week of November. All those matches will test the resilience of the six-time European champions. Slot will hope that his key players keep delivering the way they already have across all competitions so far. Winning a silverware in his debut season in England will certainly improve his profile as a manager.
