Liverpool Discover Mammoth Price For ‘Ruthless’ 62-Goal Machine To Create Incredible Attacking Force

Liverpool are looking to build the best possible squad that can help them defend their Premier League title heading into the beginning of the 2025/26 season.

Despite having made some quality signings in the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, Arne Slot’s side are hungry to add even more quality to their attacking options and aim to be locked in for the signing of Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak.

How Much Will Liverpool Need to Pay for Alexander Isak Signing?

Liverpool are now prioritising the signing of Alexander Isak after having completed the sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.

It’s now being reported that the Premier League champions actually had a huge offer worth around £110 million-plus rejected by Newcastle United for the transfer of the Swedish forward. The Reds had agreed to pay £110 million plus add-ons, but the entire fee did not exactly cross the £120 million mark.

This comes at a time when Isak is not even training with Newcastle United in their pre-season training and is working all alone by himself as he waits for the conclusion of his transfer saga.

It’s further claimed that Newcastle have made it very clear to Liverpool that value the 25-year-old striker at around £150 million and have no intentions of lowering their value for his possible sale in the 2025 summer window.

Liverpool have reportedly already agreed personal terms with Isak, who is ready to make the move to Arne Slot’s side and help them compete for all the major trophies in the near future.

Liverpool have already broken their club transfer record for the signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, which was for an initial £100 million with potential add-ons stretching it to the £116 million mark.

It looks like they will need to break that record once again if they aim to sign Isak, and if they pay £150 million for the Swedish striker’s signing, then they’d also be going to break the British transfer record, which is currently held by Enzo Fernandez’s £107 million transfer to Chelsea in 2023.

Will Isak Signing Improve Liverpool’s Frontline?

There is a reason why Liverpool are so determined to complete the signing fo Alexander Isak in the 2025 summer window, even after having signed a new striker in Ekitike.

The 25-year-old Swedish forward was a major force to be reckoned with for Newcastle United, scoring 23 goals in 34 Premier League games and also providing six assists. He was the second-highest goalscorer in the 2024/25 Premier League, with only Mohamed Salah outscoring the Swedish ace in the league last season.

Isak has been in incredible form for the Magpies since joining them from Real Sociedad in 2022, having scored 62 goals in 109 appearances for them so far.

The 25-year-old’s ruthlessness in the frontline is reflected strongly in his metrics, with Isak averaging 3.10 shot attempts, 0.62 non-penalty goals and 6.17 touches per 90 minutes in the attacking penalty area in the 2024/25 Premier League.

In comparison, Darwin Nunez only averaged 0.34 non-penalty goals, 2.76 shots and 5.85 touches per 90 in the opposition penalty area last season, while Luis Diaz averaged 0.48 non-penalty goals, 2.52 shot attempts and 6.18 touches per 90 in the opposition penalty area in the 2024/25 Premier League.

Mohamed Salah is the only one to better Isak in some of the key attacking metrics, and the prospect of the two devastating goal scorers playing together will delight any Liverpool fan.

Isak was hailed as a striker with a “ruthless mentality” by Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe, but it’s clear that Liverpool will need to pay a mammoth transfer fee to complete this dream transfer before the start of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
