Liverpool have been having a brilliant time for the last year or so. First, they won the Premier League title and now they are having a wonderful transfer window.
The Reds have already roped in Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike in their attack, not to mention Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, the two full-backs and might still deliver another surprise by ensuring the signature of Rodrygo of Real Madrid.
In such a scenario, a lot of people might be the Reds as the firm favourites to win their second consecutive Premier League title.
However, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, the winner of six league titles in the last eight years, might not be left far behind, actually, when the action unfolds next season.
Do Manchester City Still Have The Best Squad?
The Cityzens have some wonderful players in their team, even considering the fact that someone as talismanic as Kevin De Bruyne has left the team. Ilkay Gundogan might depart as well, but Manchester City have enough options in their midfield to make up for the supposed loss of two influential players.
They have already roped in Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders, two solid central midfielders gunning for glory in England now. They also have Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, Mateo Kovacic, Rodri, Nico Gonzalez, Nico O’Reilly, Jeremy Doku and Savinho – a wonderful collection of midfielders.
De Bruyne’s absence might their creativity, though and Bernardo and Foden will have to take key roles in that respect. If Cherki manages to transform his Ligue 1 form into the Premier League, City might not have a lot to worry about.
Filling in the shoes left by De Bruyne will never be easy, but Cherki might be the man to do it, as he has shown his ability while playing for Lyon with 12 goals and 19 assists in only 44 matches in the 2024/25 season.

Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush Are Prolific Goal-Getters
Haaland and Marmoush scored 34 and 28 goals last season, respectively. 20 of Marmoush’s goals came while playing for Bayer Leverkusen, but he has already proven that he is quite suitable for the English game as well.
Haaland is usually marked heavily by opposition defenders these days, but is still good enough to rack up decent numbers upfront almost at will. The Norwegian has scored 124 goals in 146 matches for the Cityzens so far, which is an amazing record.
Lastly, the Cityzens have Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, Josko Gvardiol and Abdukadir Khusanov among their defenders, each of whom, except Khusanov, has proved his utility for the side.
Manchester City dominate ball-possession usually and therefore are a bit vulnerable against counter-attacks.
Rodri’s return to action will put them in a better position to deal with it, but the young players like Ake and Khusanov will have to rise up to the occasion soon.
Guardiola can still take heart from the fact that he has the most complete squad in English football at his disposal. An underwhelming season after a series of successes cannot dispute or negate that fact.
