Tottenham hosts Manchester City on Saturday. Tottenham is currently in 2nd in the Premier League. Manchester City has got off to a slow start this season and draws have prevented them from being at the top of the table. Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho are expected to be back for this game. It’s a must win game for Manchester City.
Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias need to play their best game of the season to slow down Harry Kane and Son-Heung-Min who have combined for 15 goals this season. Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho are hoping to play in this game. Aguero will need to play his best potential if they want to win this game. This would be a good game to get his first goal of the season. Kevin De Bruyne will look to bounce back from his disappointing performance vs Liverpool. Highlighted by a penalty miss that likely would have gotten Manchester City three points. If Sterling plays his needs to play like a team player rather than a solo act. There have been some games this year where he decided to shoot instead of passing it to a teammate with a better opportunity to score. If a player is struggling like Sterling did against Liverpool Pep should not hesitate to sub him out for a player like Phil Foden. Enderson will need to make some big saves in order to win this game.
Although they are very high in the standings Tottenham does not know how to put teams away. For example, they only beat Burnley and Brighton 1-0. So, that does question how good they really are if they barely beat relegation bound teams. With that said usually teams have a chance to hang with them and possibly beat them. Their strength is the combination of Kane and Son. Those two have been phenomenal this season. Gareth Bale is still trying to figure it out with Tottenham. With them being so reliant on Son and Kane there has not been another player who has proven he can step up when those two are having an off game.
I’ll give Manchester City a 2-1 win because they need the game more. They win to start accumulating wins because draws will not move them up in the standings. This team has way too much talent to be getting so many draws.
