Dele Alli was once viewed as a player with limitless potential. Under Mauricio Pochettino, he was one of Tottenham Hotspur’s best players. However, he has struggled to get game-time under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. Alli has only started eight league games this season and a move to Newcastle United could be exactly what he needs to revive his career.

Could Joining Newcastle Revive Dele Alli’s Career?
Tottenham have said they are open to the option of letting go of Dele Alli and Newcastle have made initial enquiries with the Englishman. Newcastle may not appear to be a very appealing option at first. They are currently 19th in the league and have won only one game all season. However, Newcastle are happy to take Dele Alli on a loan deal until the end of the season. This means the English midfielder can join the Magpies on a six-month loan deal and then return to Tottenham once the season is over. However, Newcastle will be looking to add a clause into the contract, giving them the option to buy Alli in the summer.
With the World Cup around the corner, Dele Alli will want to prove himself in the coming months to secure a spot in the squad. Newcastle are a side that will definitely offer him these precious minutes. Eddie Howe has been experimenting with Newcastle’s midfield ever since joining the club in November. Dele Alli could be the solution he is looking for. Dele Alli has only contributed to two goals in the Premier League in the last two seasons so a chance to prove himself at a club like Newcastle could be a good option, especially since other players have done it before.
Joe Willock joined the Magpies on a loan spell in February 2021. The youngster shined at Newcastle and was a key reason that Newcastle avoided relegation that season. In the summer, Willock joined Newcastle on a permanent deal. Dele Alli has all the abilities to have an impressive loan spell at Newcastle, just like Willock, and can then make a decision of where he wishes to be at the end of the season.
