After ensuring the Elliot Anderson signing, it remains to be seen who becomes the next Manchester City signing.
The Cityzens did not win the Premier League title for two successive seasons and will be gunning for glory in the league this season. As a result, the next Manchester City signing is becoming very important.
Man City have most positions covered, but could do with another winger. Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo are there, but an additional winger would add value to the squad.
Next Manchester City Signing: Why a Winger Is Needed
Doku and Semenyo are fine players, but they will need back-up for next season. Savinho is set to leave the club, and as Bernardo Silva is no longer there, Man City do not have that muĺti-purpose man who can play on the right flank.
Manchester City still have Phil Foden though, who can play as a right-winger. However, Foden’s recent form has been nothing great, and he will struggle to make it into the starting XI next season if every other player is fit to start. Even if Foden plays, he might do so as a central attacking midfielder only.
However, one could still have Foden as an option to play on the right flank. Even then, the Cityzens will need a back-up for Doku on the left. Doku has an explosive style of play and could easily get injured over the course of a marathon season.
Hence, the next Manchester City signing needs to be a winger, preferably a left-winger. Omar Marmoush can play on the left, but is more comfortable playing off the striker or as the No.9 himself.

Who Could Be the Next Manchester City Signing?
The next Manchester City signing could very well be Pedro Neto, the Chelsea winger who has been linked with the Cityzens of late. Neto can play on either flank and has spent two seasons at Chelsea and five at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Neto has seven seasons under his belt in the Premier League. He has played in 238 matches in those seven seasons and has scored 33 goals. The Portugal international is known for his pace on the flanks and can be a fine option to have in a team’s squad.
Moreover, he is still only 26 and could easily have an extended stay at any of the clubs.
As Chelsea have signed Morgan Rogers, who can play as a left-winger, Neto’s position in the playing XI might get jeopardised. Chelsea have Estevao to play on the right flank, and if Rogers and Estevao play on the two flanks, there will be no place for Neto in it.
It now remains to be seen whether Manchester City, who won the FA Cup and EFL Cup last season, go for Neto. It could be some other player as well, but the Cityzens do need to sign a winger.
Hopefully, Enzo Maresca, their new manager, has expressed his desire in that regard. The next Manchester City signing could prove to be crucial in deciding the outcome of their next season.
