Where the Premier League’s Big Six Are Traveling This Summer

With the Premier League season over and the newly expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup set for June 15 to July 13 in the USA, fans are closely tracking where each of the Big Six clubs will spend the summer.

Chelsea and Manchester City head to the Club World Cup in the US, while the others tour Asia or North America.

For fans and those interested in online betting, it pays to know who’s playing where.

Arsenal

Arsenal have confirmed three high-profile friendlies abroad.

They’ll face AC Milan in Singapore on July 23, then Newcastle United (also in Singapore) on July 27, before flying to Hong Kong to play Tottenham Hotspur at the new Kai Tak Stadium on July 31.

That Hong Kong clash will be the first North London derby ever held outside England.

Chelsea

Chelsea’s summer is dominated by the Club World Cup. As 2021 Champions League winners, the Blues qualified for the expanded tournament and will travel to the USA in mid-June.

They’re in Group D, alongside Brazil’s Flamengo, Tunisia’s ES Tunis and MLS’s Los Angeles (the replacement for Club León).

Chelsea opened on June 16 with a 2-0 win against LAFC at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

They will then face Flamengo on June 20 and ES Tunis on June 24 (both at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field).

Liverpool

Liverpool will also spend July abroad.

The reigning Premier League champions kick off pre-season at Preston North End on July 13 at the Deepdale stadium before heading to Asia.

Merseyside’s tour begins in Hong Kong. There they’ll meet AC Milan on July 26 in the new Kai Tak Stadium.

The next stop will be Japan, where Liverpool will play Yokohama F. Marinos on July 30.

Those two fixtures mark Liverpool’s first summer trips to Hong Kong and Japan.

Finally, the Reds conclude their preparation back home with a rare doubleheader at Anfield on August 4 against Athletic Club (a 5pm and 8pm BST kick-off, one ticket covers both matches).

Manchester City

Manchester City, as 2023 Champions League winners, join Chelsea in the USA for the Club World Cup.

City were drawn in Group G with Juventus (Italy), Wydad AC (Morocco) and Al-Ain (UAE).

Their first game will be against Wydad AC at the Lincoln Financial Field on June 18, followed by Al Ain at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, on June 23 and then Juventus at the Camping World Stadium on June 26 to conclude the group stage.

Manchester United

Manchester United have the most globe-spanning plan of all of the Premier League ‘Big Six’ teams.

Unusually, their first post-season matches came immediately after the Premier League ends: a two-game Asia tour.

Manchester United lost 1-0 to the ASEAN All Stars team in Kuala Lumpur on May 28. They then beat a Hong Kong XI at Hong Kong Stadium on May 30 3-1.

After a break, United will reconvene in July.

The first match is at home in Sweden: they will meet Leeds United in Stockholm on July 19 (at Friends Arena).

Then United head to the USA’s Premier League Summer Series, facing three fellow PL clubs in iconic stadiums.

The Red Devils will face West Ham at MetLife Stadium on July 26, Bournemouth at Soldier Field on July 30, and Everton at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on August 3.

Finally, the tour wraps up back at Old Trafford. The Red Devils’ fifth and last friendly is a “Snapdragon Cup” match against Fiorentina on August 9.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham’s summer tour also takes in Asia before a European finale.

Spurs confirmed they will face local rivals Arsenal in Hong Kong on July 31 – a historic friendly at Kai Tak Stadium marking the first-ever North London derby outside England.

The Europa League champions will then face Newcastle United, although match details are yet to be confirmed.

Spurs will then travel to Germany for one more friendly: a fixture against Bayern Munich on August 7 at Munich’s Allianz Arena.

The game in Munich will serve as a warm-up to Tottenham’s UEFA Super Cup final game against PSG on August 13.
