Tottenham Hotspur in danger of being dragged closer and closer towards the Premier League relegation zone has now become a huge reality.
Another defeat, this time at the hands of Newcastle United, has turned their situation from bad to worse.
Thomas Frank’s men suffered a 2-1 defeat, and it was Spurs’ third defeat in their last five league matches, which has dragged them closer towards a potential Premier League relegation zone conversation.
Tottenham Hotspur’s loss has taken them down to 16th in the league table with only 29 points from 26 matches.
Spurs finished 17th in the league table last season, thus barely avoiding relegation, which cost Ange Postecoglou his job as their manager.
Things have not improved much this season either, with Thomas Frank struggling to come to terms with the injuries of James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and many more of his key first-team players.
The most recent Tottenham Hotspur loss has dragged them closer to the Premier League relegation zone once again, with things unlikely to finish in a much better way this time around either.
At the time of writing the article, Frank has just been sacked by Tottenham.
Despite winning the Europa League last season, it is a sad joke for Tottenham supporters that their team is so close tothe Premier League relegation zone for the second successive season.
Spurs are only five points clear of West Ham United, who are currently in the 18th position, but have won three of their last five matches.

Tottenham Hotspur In Danger: Top Half Finish Looking Ever More Doubtful
The defeat has affected them significantly and made it difficult for them to finish in the top half. Maddison and Kulusevski have been really difficult to replace, with new signings like Xavi Simons only managing two goals and five assists in 31 matches so far.
It will not be fair to call Simons a total failure, but his stats should definitely improve for him to justify his signing for the North Londoners.
Mohammed Kudus, another new signing, started well, but his numbers have stagnated during the last couple of months as he has also been hit with injury.
Kudus has three goals and five assists in 26 matches for Frank’s team, which makes him one of the best attacking players for the club.
Richarlison is another player who has blown hot and cold for the North Londoners, with eight goals in 31 matches so far.
Thus, each of Simons, Kudus and Richarlison has done enough to warrant selection in the team, but neither has come up with exceptional performances that are needed to take the team towards fighting for a spot in European football.
Captain Cristian Romero’s tendency to miss matches through suspension has not helped their defence either.
Such average performances are not good enough for an elite-level team like Tottenham, which regularly finished inside the top four under Mauricio Pochettino a few seasons ago.
The decadence in their performance during the last three to four seasons is there for everyone to see, and Frank has not been any better either.
Tottenham Hotspur In Danger: Tough Fixtures Coming Up
Spurs will take on Fulham, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Liverpool in their next four league matches.
Each of them is likely to be a difficult opponent and is well ahead of the Lilywhites in the league table.
If the Tottenham Hotspur loss to Newcastle does not serve as a wake-up call, it might be really difficult for them to earn points from those four matches.
Failing to earn enough points from those matches will put the new manager under a lot of pressure in their last eight matches of the season in the league.
The new manager simply cannot allow the losses to keep happening if he is to save his job and drive them away from the Premier League relegation zone.
