The Erling Haaland form was on display yet again as he scored the only goal in Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Burnley in a Premier League match on Wednesday, April 22. Erling Haaland form bailed out the Cityzens yet again, as the 25-year-old Norwegian scored the match-winner against Arsenal last weekend as well.

Manchester City are now at the top of the league table with 70 points in 33 matches. Should Man City go on to win the league title, the Erling Haaland form will have played a key role in it.

Haaland had a brilliant first half of the season, but his form dropped a bit as the second half began. It seems to have picked up once again, as the Cityzens are reaping the benefits of it with their recent resurgence.

Erling Haaland Form Has Been Splendid This Season

The Erling Haaland form has been tremendous this season. The Norwegian has scored 35 goals in 47 matches so far, which means that he has a realistic chance of breaching the 40-goal mark once again.

Haaland has won the Premier League Golden Shoe twice in his three completed seasons at Manchester City and is almost certain to win it for the third time this season. Haaland has scored 159 goals in 193 matches for the Cityzens so far, which is a record as good as anyone’s in the history of the Premier League.

Haaland’s work rate off the ball has also improved a great deal during the past year or so. He now gets involved a lot more in winning the ball back by pressing hard or dropping down to the half-line. Haaland is a more complete player now, and his physicality helps him a lot in this regard.

However, the Norwegian’s primary duty remains scoring goals for his team, which he does in abundance. The likes of Bernardo Silva, Rodri and Marc Guehi are there, but Pep Guardiola pins his hopes primarily on Haaland primarily for getting the all-important goals.

Erling Haaland Brilliance Gives Manchester City Hopes of Winning the Domestic Treble

The Erling Haaland brilliance gives the Cityzens hopes of winning the domestic treble. They already have the EFL Cup in their kitty and might go on to win the FA Cup as well.

They are in a very close fight with Arsenal in the Premier League title race, but the momentum is firmly with them after their victory over the Gunners several days ago.

Guardiola’s men will take on Everton in their next Premier League match, but have a semi-final clash lined up against Southampton prior to that. Beating the Saints in the semifinal will take them closer to another domestic title, which will be Guardiola’s 20th silverware for the club.

As of now, Haaland’s job is to ensure that Man City are able to finish the season in style. His goal-scoring form indicates that Manchester City remain the favourite to win both the FA Cup and the Premier League titles. Guardiola will sincerely hope that the Erling Haaland form continues in the same way for at least another month.
