Brentford vs West Ham saw Keith Andrews’ side comfortably dispatch the Hammers with a 3-0 win, moving into the top six, and more importantly, into the European football places.

In the fight for Europe, it was important for Bees to win in the Brentford vs West Ham match and to get themselves in and amongst the battle.

Brentford forward, Igor Thiago, also got himself back in the goals, scoring the second of three, to close the gap in the Premier League Golden Boot race.

The loss for West Ham has plunged them into danger, as if Tottenham Hotspur beat Aston Villa in tomorrow night’s late kick-off, the Hammers would fall back into the drop zone.

Brentford vs West Ham: Bees Into The Top Six With Three Games To Go

For a side that many tipped to go down at the start of the season, Brentford have excelled with that label on them as they march closer towards playing European football.

If Keith Andrews’ side manages to finish inside the top seven, it will be the first time that the Bees will be playing European football in their 134-year history.

With a commanding win against West Ham, after goals from Igor Thiago, Mikkel Damsgaard and an own goal from Konstantinos Mavropanos, Brentford soared up to sixth place in the Premier League.

With most of the plaudits going to leading goalscorer Igor Thiago, the Bees have managed to keep their points tally ticking, with only two losses in their last 10 Premier League games.

However, Brentford, who occupy sixth place with 51 points, are only six points clear of Newcastle United, who sit in 13th and are still in with a shout of European football come the end of the season.

In one of the tightest races for Europe, eight teams are still in with a chance of reaching European football with three games to go in the Premier League season.

Some of the sides below Brentford still have to play this weekend, but games in hand never guarantee points, so the Bees currently hold the cards after winning their fixture.

After being labelled a relegation-bound side at the start of the season, Keith Andrews’ side proved their critics wrong and are on the hunt for European football for the first time in the club’s history.

Brentford vs West Ham: Loss Plunges Hammers Back Into Relegation Danger

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would have wanted to avoid a defeat, but the 3-0 loss has plunged them into the clutches of Spurs, who play tomorrow evening.

With the Hammers only two points above the drop zone, a win for Tottenham Hotspur against the UEFA Champions League-hunting Aston Villa would put West Ham back into the relegation places.

In a tightly contested battle to avoid the drop, it looks to be a fight between Spurs and the Hammers for who retains their place in the Premier League.

On January 1, 2026, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur were separated by 12 points, with Spurs in 12th, four points off the top five, and the Hammers in 18th, four points from safety.

Fast forward to now, and these two look to be the ones battling for their place in the Premier League, and with a handful of games to go, the relegation battle couldn’t be any closer.

There will definitely be plenty of twists and turns in the relegation battle, with plenty of teams still not safe from the drop and could easily be dragged into the dog fight.

The West Ham loss to Brentford has certainly not helped the Hammers’ cause in the relegation fight, but Spurs have to pick up the win against a tough-to-beat Aston Villa side.
