The Manchester City transfer window is going on nicely and is likely to get better in the coming month. The Cityzens have already roped in Elliot Anderson as a potential replacement for Bernardo Silva in the double-pivot alongside Rodri.
Ayyoub Bouaddi, the Moroccan teenager who impressed at the World Cup, is also firmly on Manchester City’s radar. Bouaddi is one of the Manchester City transfer targets and might end up coming to the Etihad to play his football next season.
Manchester City Transfer Window Should Manage To Form a Great Midfield
The Cityzens already have Rodri, Anderson and Rayan Cherki in their midfield. Having Bouaddi as a player who can hold the ball in the middle of the park will undoubtedly strengthen the Man City midfield further.
If Manchester City manage to hold on to Rodri, the Golden Ball winner at the World Cup 2026 with Spain and a former Ballon d’Or winner, their midfield will undoubtedly be one of the strongest in the world.
The quartet of Rodri, Anderson, Cherki and Bouaddi should make it very difficult for Phil Foden, who recently signed a new contract with the club, to make it to the playing XI.
If each of them manages to stay fit, Foden will have to make his place in the playing XI as an option on the right flank aside from Antoine Semenyo. However, if Rodri is ultimately lured away by Real Madrid, the Cityzens might have to make another signing.
Not to forget that Man City also have Nico Gonzalez and Mateo Kovacic, with the latter having experience of winning the Premier League and UEFA Champions League. That means that even the Man City midfield options in the midfield are going to be really good in the upcoming season. Having enough options will be needed while playing across four different competitions.

Dealing With the Departure of Stalwarts in the Midfield Was Not Easy for the Cityzens
Manchester City have had to deal with the departures of Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and now Bernardo Silva, each of whom contributed significantly to their rise to the top of English football. The Cityzens already felt the absence of De Bruyne and Gundogan last season, as they finished seven points behind champions Arsenal.
As a result, the rebuild in the midfield is the prime focus of the current Manchester City transfer window. Both Anderson and Bouaddi are very young, and hence, it should be a good long-term investment to buy them.
Man City have enough options in their defence and a wonderful striker like Erling Haaland upfront. They have also bought a left-back last season, and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has successfully replaced Ederson.
However, without having proper replacements for the past stalwarts in the Man City midfield, the club cannot claim to have done enough to build a team worthy of winning the league title.
Anderson and Bouaddi are among the best young midfielders in the world, and if Rodri and Cherki lend their experience to them, it will be really difficult to stop Manchester City next season.
