The Morgan Rogers form is currently taking things by storm in English football. Rogers’ brace against Manchester United in a league match on Sunday, December 22, won Aston Villa the match. The attacking midfielder has made a strong case to be included in the starting XI of England at the 2026 World Cup.
On current form, Rogers may just be the best England No.10. The Three Lions are spoilt for choice in that position, but the Aston Villa man is doing enough to be considered as the most suitable candidate in that position.
Morgan Rogers Form
Rogers has scored seven goals and registered five assists in 24 matches for Aston Villa this season. This is his third season at the club, and he has scored 24 goals for them in 94 appearances so far. One can argue that the 23-year-old midfielder has started to emerge as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders since the beginning of the current year.
In 2025, Rogers has also been able to break into the English national team. He has already earned 12 international caps for the Three Lions, scoring a solitary goal in them.
As of now, he seems to be in direct battle with Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham for the role of the England No.10, if Thomas Tuchel decides to stick to a 4-2-3-1 formation.
The current Morgan Rogers form is evident from the fact that Aston Villa are in the Premier League title race midway through the season. Unai Emery’s men are in third position at the moment, with Rogers being one of their outstanding players.
Rogers has a certain smoothness about his game, with an inherent ability to carry the ball and dribble past defenders. He also has a great shot on him, as he exhibited twice by scoring against Manchester United with shots from an identical position at the edge of the box.

Will Rogers Be Given the Nod for a Start as the England No.10?
Rogers will have a very dynamic fellow midfielder in the English national team in Declan Rice, just as he has one in Youri Tielemans for Aston Villa. It should work perfectly fine for him, as it should allow his creativity to flourish.
Bellingham is more of a physical specimen than Rogers, but the latter arguably has better ball-skills. England have two quality holding midfielders in Rice and Elliot Anderson and even Bellingham can play as one. Hence, it should make Rogers an ideal candidate for the role of the England No.10 at the World Cup.
However, one has to remember that England have Cole Palmer and Phil Foden as potential candidates as well. If they decide to play with a 3-4-2-1 formation to accommodate two of them, it becomes a different ball game, though.
However, for that to happen ultimately, Rogers will have to continue playing well for the remainder of the season. As of now, the Morgan Rogers form suggests that he stands a great chance of starting for his country in the United States next summer.
