Liverpool’s best players from their 2025/26 Premier League campaign were a few bright spots in what was a frustrating campaign for the defending champions, who weren’t able to pose any kind of major challenge in defending their championship at all under Arne Slot.

The Reds ended up finishing the season in fifth place, 25 points behind eventual Premier League winners Arsenal and barely able to secure qualification for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League.

Even though it was a really inconsistent campaign for them, Liverpool’s best players were able to provide some joy to the fans in their 2025/26 Premier League games and help secure what would end up be some very important victories to at least help them secure European qualification for the upcoming campaign.

Here, we look at Liverpool’s best players who helped provide some glowing moments in their frustrating campaign and enabled them to at least finish the campaign in a relatively respectable position in the Premier League.

2025/26 Liverpool’s Best Players

Dominik Szoboszlai

In what was a topsy-turvy 2025/26 campaign for the Reds, Dominik Szoboszlai definitely justifies his place among Liverpool’s best players in the Premier League last season.

The Hungarian midfielder was definitely one of the most consistent players for Arne Slot’s team amid their ups and downs in the English top-flight, being able to provide that spark in the midfield and coming up with goal contributions with relative consistency, with Dominik Szoboszlai goals coming at the right times as well.

Szoboszlai deserves his place as one of Liverpool’s best players in the 2025/26 Premier League, as he managed 13 goal contributions (goals and assists) with seven assists and six goals to his name.

Who can forget his incredible free-kick goal in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Arsenal, with Dominik Szoboszlai’s goals helping win many points for Liverpool?

Not only that, but Szoboszlai was also able to create the most number of goal-scoring chances (78) in the 2025/26 Premier League and was a major driving force for his side. He proved himself as the ultimate team player, not only operating in the midfield, but even playing as a right-winger and right-back for them in moments of need.

The Hungarian midfielder can keep his head held high after a prolific season that helped him prove his importance to the Liverpool set-up.

Hugo Ekitike

When Hugo Ekitike was signed by Liverpool for a formidable fee in the 2025 summer window from Eintracht Frankfurt, some people had doubts over whether he could hold his own in the Premier League.

More questions were raised after Alexander Isak’s blockbuster signing from Newcastle United, but the Frenchman was able to silence his doubters by being one of Liverpool’s best players in the 2025/26 Premier League.

Ekitike scored 11 goals for the Reds in the league last season, with the Hugo Ekitike goals making him the only Liverpool player to reach the double-figure mark in the Premier League. He was also able to get four assists, earning 15 goal contributions on a whole.

Despite a nasty injury towards the end of the season, ending his 2026 World Cup hopes, it was still a prolific campaign for the Frenchman thanks to the Hugo Ekitike goals, as he proved himself set to be a vital player for the Reds going forward.

Mohamed Salah

Even though he failed to replicate his incredible heroics from the 2024/25 Premier League, where his 29 goals and 18 assists helped Liverpool win the title, Mohamed Salah still had a relatively memorable final campaign with the Reds.

The Mohamed Salah goals were still a spectacle to watch, as the Egyptian winger was able to score seven goals and provide seven assists in the 2025/26 Premier League for the Reds.

The Mohamed Salah goals helped earn some vital points for the Reds, with the Egyptian winger being able to make the most of his minutes despite Arne Slot not giving him as much playing time as he would’ve liked in the 2025/26 campaign.

Salah announced his decision to leave Liverpool towards the end of the campaign, and although it wasn’t the perfect farewell for him, Salah was still able to produce some nice memories before departing the Premier League.
