The France 2026 World Cup squad has been announced, and Les Bleus’ squad is arguably the best at the tournament on paper, with the sheer number of superstars they have.

Under manager Didier Deschamps, a World Cup-winning captain himself, France have a strong chance of making it to their third consecutive final, and the France 2026 World Cup squad is definitely strong enough to win it for the second time in the space of eight years.

France 2026 World Cup Squad: The Attacking Talent

The France 2026 World Cup squad boasts the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise, Rayan Cherki, Desire Doué, Marcus Thuram and Bradley Barcola in attack, making it arguably the strongest attack in the tournament without any doubt.

Mbappe will be playing in his third World Cup in 2026 and is already among the top goal-scorers in the history of the tournament. Olise has been in stupendous form for Bayern Munich this season, and Cherki is one of the most improved young players.

In addition to those three, Doué and Barcola have won the UEFA Champions League for the second successive time this season with Paris Saint-Germain, giving France a lethal edge in their attack.

Thuram is also experienced enough and was a member of the team that lost narrowly to Argentina in the final of the 2022 World Cup on penalties.

France 2026 World Cup Squad: Solid Defence And Midfield

The French have William Saliba, Ibrahima Konate and Dayot Upamecano, all starters for top clubs in Europe, as their centre-backs. Jules Kounde and Malo Gusto will be the full-backs, and Mike Maignan will be the goalkeeper of choice for Les Bleus.

The France 2026 World Cup squad includes Adrien Rabiot and N’Golo Kante in their midfield, both of whom featured in the World Cup-winning campaign in Russia in 2018.

They have a wealth of experience and should prove to be a handful for any opposition in the World Cup. On the flip side, it has to be said that France does not have any standout young midfielder in their team this time around aside from Cherki, who will likely play as the number 10 if selected.

France 2026 World Cup Squad: A Tough Group Stage Awaits

France has Senegal, Iraq and Norway in their group. Senegal won the AFCON earlier this year before they were stripped of the title following an off-field controversy, and they are considerably strong with Sadio Mane leading them.

Norway have probably been the most improved team in Europe for the last couple of years. With Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard leading the pack, the Norwegians had a perfect record in their qualifying group.

Iraq are relatively weaker, but still capable of springing a surprise. All of that means that France will have their hands full in the group stage. However, the France 2026 World Cup squad has enough quality in it to overcome those challenges.

Anything less than the semi-finals will be considered a failure, given the obvious quality they have. It remains to be seen whether Deschamps is able to win his second World Cup as a manager and third overall, but the quality in the France 2026 World Cup squad certainly makes it a possibility.
