The Jeremy Doku form is wonderful for Manchester City at the moment. The Belgian winger scored a great first goal in Manchester City’s 3-0 win over Brentford on Saturday, May 9.

The Cityzens are now two points adrift of Arsenal’s tally after 35 rounds of matches. It was the Jeremy Doku form that helped the Cityzens keep the pressure on Arsenal.

Jeremy Doku Form: The Impact

The Jeremy Doku form has been a constant for Man City this season. The Belgian winger has eight goals and eight assists in 43 matches for the Cityzens this season. However, the numbers do not quite do justice to the impact he has had.

Doku has regularly been Manchester City’s primary creative outlet through the left flank. He has great speed and ball-caerying ability, coupled with a great shot. He takes on the opposition right-back regularly and penetrates into the opposition penalty box with consummate ease.

The Belgian made his impact clear against Brentford on Saturday and was the best player on the pitch, even in a first half that saw no goals being scored.

Doku kept providing Erling Haaland with crosses from the left and the latter came close to scoring on a number of occasions. On current form, there are not too many left-wingers aside from the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Vinicius Junior, who can surpass Doku in terms of the impact on the pitch.

Three Seasons at Manchester City

Doku’s arrival at Manchester City sidelined Jack Grealish, and the latter was forced to leave the club last season. The Belgian has scored 22 goals and registered 25 assists in 127 matches for the Cityzens so far.

However, it is his ability to keep opposition defenders occupied and maintain pressure on them that makes him such an important player in the Cityzens’ set-up. Now, with Antoine Semenyo on the opposite flank, Man City have a pair of quality wingers that can prove to be a handful for most of the teams.

If Manchester City are to win the Premier League title this season, they will have to make sure that the Jeremy Doku form continues like this. The club have three matches coming up in quick succession, including the FA Cup. They will take on Crystal Palace in the coming week before facing Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday, May 16.

Doku will have to ensure that he continues to cause trouble for the opposition defenders in the same way. The Belgian has been a really effective player for the Cityzens so far, and Pep Guardiola will put a lot of faith in him.

Doku’s contract with Manchester City runs until 2028. The current Jeremy Doku form means that he should be able to stay at the club till that time. He has already won the Premier League title once with the club and hopes that he will get a chance to put his hands on the trophy once again this season. His own performance remains key towards achieving they objective.
