Real Madrid have made a lightning start to their La Liga campaign, with Jude Bellingham’s form making a massive impact in Los Blancos’ unbeaten start. The Englishman, utilised in the central attacking midfield role just behind striker Kylian Mbappe, has seen him flourish and return back to his best at Real Madrid.
After three games this season in La Liga, Bellingham already has two goals and two assists, and his form from the World Cup has certainly translated to his form in the new league campaign. During the 2023/24 campaign, Carlo Ancelotti deployed him in the number 10 position, and the then 20-year-old showed why Real Madrid paid the big bucks for him. Jude Bellingham’s form took a nosedive last season, as injuries and constant positional changes saw the Englishman only scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 46 appearances for Los Blancos. In terms of goal contributions, that was his worst season in club football since his second-ever season in senior football, and it also did not help the change from Carlo Ancelotti to Xabi Alonso, and then Alonso to Álvaro Arbeloa at the midway point of the campaign.

Jude Bellingham’s Form: A Rapid Start To The 2025/26 La Liga Season
In three games in La Liga, Jude Bellingham’s form has seen him make a lightning start to the campaign. A goal in his opening game, backed up by two assists and a goal in the next two matches, puts him as the joint second-best goal contributor in the league after only three matches.
It is also important to note that in every match he was deployed as the number 10, with Bernardo Silva and Federico Valverde or the latter paired up with Eduardo Camavinga, behind him. With Real Madrid’s summer transfer window signings, it relieves some pressure off Bellingham’s shoulders that he may be needed to fill in as a number six or a number eight.
However, with players like Bernardo Silva, Valverde, Camavinga, and the slowly returning Aurélien Tchouaméni and Thiago Pitarch, Jude Bellingham will be given the freedom to perform as the regular number 10 for Real Madrid. There’s the obvious competition for that place with Turkish talent Arda Guler, but Jude Bellingham’s form at the moment in the attacking midfielder role is pushing the talented Turk into a different role in Jose Mourinho’s setup.

This start to the current league season replicates the start he made to his Real Madrid career. During the 2023/24 season, he scored five goals and provided one assist in his opening four league matches, and after three La Liga matches this season, he already has four goal contributions in an unbeaten start for Los Blancos in the league.
Jude Bellingham’s form as the number 10 will be imperative for Los Blancos, who look to chase down Barcelona and return to the top of Spanish football after two seasons of dominance from the Blaugrana.
