A Paul Pogba reunion with Juventus has been mentioned and Mino Raiola recently fanned the flames of the rumour. However, according to The Mirror, Bianconeri’s sporting director Federico Cherubini has indirectly mentioned that they are not interested in the player.
The Serie A giants landed the Frenchman back in 2012 as a free agent. They helped turn him into a midfield maestro and sold him back to Manchester United for a then-record fee of £89 million.
Manchester United extended his stay until 2022 as they activated the extra year in his contract and are working hard to keep one of their key players, hoping that he signs a new contract by the end of 2021.

Raiola’s Comment On Paul Pogba Contradicted By Federico Cherubini
Paul Pogba is a player of interest for many clubs. He is a talented player who is struggling to get on the right foot at Old Trafford with consistency being an issue. For the past five years Pogba has not delivered a successful season with the club but this hasn’t stopped the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus keeping tabs on him.
Mino Raiola does not have a great relationship with Manchester United, and he is rumoured to be trying his best to find a better club for his client. He had delivered a statement last year mentioning that Pogba is unhappy at United. This had created a heated argument with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blaming the super agent for influencing his player. This problem died off when his contract was extended by a year;
On Friday, Raiola spoke with the Italian TV channel Rai Sports, where he commented on Pogba’s future, which was quoted by Corriere Dello Sport as;
“Pogba’s contract expires next year. We’ll talk with Manchester United and we’ll see. Of course, Turin stayed in his heart and he cares a lot about these things. The possibility of him coming back is there, but it also depends on Juve.”
But the player’s availability for free next summer has not intrigued Juventus to pursue him. Federico Cherubini obliquely addressed this comment by saying;
“In the market, we will look for players like Haaland before the final maturity. Any investment will go in the direction of a young profile. I plan to bet on another type of player.”
Juventus And Paul Pogba Having Contrasting Starts To Their Season
Cherubini might have not said that they need Pogba, but their start to the season shows why they need him. Juventus are having their worst start to a Serie A campaign in 60 years. After match week four they have failed to win a single match and are sitting in the relegation zone with just two points.
On the other hand, Paul Pogba is finally in the form of his life at Manchester United. He has assisted seven goals in just five appearances, already surpassing his assists from his previous two seasons combined. His resurrection has also given United a great start in the Premier League as they sit on level terms with Chelsea and Liverpool at the top of the table.
The 28-year-old is expected to be a crucial part of the club this season and with a bolstered attack that includes Cristiano Ronaldo, we can expect him to have more involvement. The club will be hoping to use this to their advantage and present a lucrative deal that will retain his services.
If that doesn’t happen, Juventus must make sure they don’t miss out on him. As their European rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona are equally rumoured to be interested in him.
