The 2026 summer transfer window produced another huge amount of spending across the Premier League, with clubs bringing in established stars, exciting young players and several players from within the division.

Now that the first month of the 2026/27 season is complete, there is enough evidence to look at some of the best Premier League signings from the summer. Some have already made an immediate impact, while others have shown enough potential to suggest they could become important players later in the season.

The Best Premier League Signings So Far

Jeremy Jacquet – Liverpool

Jeremy Jacquet has emerged as one of the standout best Premier League signings of the summer after joining Liverpool from Rennes for around £55-60 million.

The 21-year-old French centre-back has slotted straight into the side alongside Virgil van Dijk and looked dominant in both the air and on the ground.

Outstanding in possession and virtually error-free across the opening five league games, Jacquet has already earned a senior France call-up and drawn comparisons with the best defenders in the division.

Morgan Rogers – Chelsea

Morgan Rogers was one of the biggest signings of the summer after Chelsea agreed a reported £117 million deal with Aston Villa.

The England international has made an immediate impact under Xabi Alonso. Rogers has already scored three goals and provided key assists across the opening weeks of the campaign, showing his importance in Chelsea’s attack.

His ability to play across the front line has also given Alonso another flexible option. For the money involved, there will always be pressure on Rogers, but his early numbers make him one of the best Premier League signings so far.

Elliot Anderson – Manchester City

Elliot Anderson’s £116 million move from Nottingham Forest has proved one of the most effective best Premier League signings of the window.

The midfielder has given Manchester City a composed and authoritative presence in front of the defence. Ranking among the league leaders for accurate passes, line-breaking passes and defensive actions, Anderson has been central to Man City’s perfect start to the season and the side’s position at the top of the table.

James Trafford – Leeds United

James Trafford’s return to the Premier League has been one of the early stories of the season.

The goalkeeper left Manchester City for Leeds United in a deal worth around £40 million and has quickly established himself as an important player for the newly promoted club.

Trafford has been particularly impressive in his first five league appearances. He conceded just three goals and led the Premier League for both saves and save percentage during that period, helping Leeds remain competitive.

His form also earned him starts for England during the September-October international break, strengthening his case as one of the best Premier League signings of the summer so far.

Tarik Muharemovic – Leeds United

Alongside Trafford, Tarik Muharemovic has been another excellent addition at Elland Road and a strong contender among the best Premier League signings.

The Bosnian centre-back arrived from Sassuolo and has posted elite defensive numbers while looking comfortable on the ball. His consistent performances have helped give Leeds a solid platform in the early weeks of the campaign.

Mamadou Sangare – Brentford

Mamadou Sangare has been one of the less obvious names to feature in discussions about the best Premier League signings, but his start at Brentford deserves attention.

The midfielder joined from Lens for a reported £38.5 million and quickly became an important part of Keith Andrews’ side. Sangare was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for August after helping Brentford make an unbeaten start.

He also provided an assist in the 3-0 victory over Tottenham, underlining his ability to contribute in the final third.

Extra Time Notes

The 2026 summer transfer window produced several major deals, but the early evidence shows that transfer fees alone cannot determine the best Premier League signings.

Jacquet has looked like a ready-made Premier League centre-back, Rogers has produced impressive attacking numbers, Anderson has anchored Manchester City‘s perfect start, Trafford and Muharemovic have given Leeds real defensive stability, and Sangare has driven Brentford’s solid beginning.

There is still a long way to go in the 2026/27 campaign, so this list could change significantly over the coming months. For now, though, these six players have given their new clubs plenty of reasons to be positive and have made strong cases as the best Premier League signings from the 2026 summer window.
