In recent times, and amid the Cityzens’ saga with the Premier League, Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City is looking imminent. With that being said, the Norwegian striker put two past Ipswich Town in Manchester City’s most recent Premier League outing, and found the back of the net twice against Paris Saint-Germain in the midweek UEFA Champions League fixture. With his two goals against the French giants, despite losing the match, he has overtaken Sergio Aguero to emerge as City’s all-time goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League.

The Premier League charged Manchester City over a breach of the FFP rules, alongside the Cityzens’ alleged refusal to cooperate with the investigation. It’s reported that the Independent Panel that declared City guilty of 114 out of the 115 charges is set to pronounce a sanction on the Cityzens on Monday, October 19. This event has prompted some clubs to look into Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City.

With the sanctions set to arrive early, talkSPORT, through pundit Adrian Durham, predicts Haaland will become an Arsenal player by January, as Mikel Arteta’s team is currently in need of a striker. With Gabriel Jesus leaving for FC Barcelona and Victor Gyokeres not performing as Arteta would expect, the Gunners may be disposed to pull off a deal with Manchester City for Erling Haaland.

However, there’s been no confirmation that Arteta is interested in Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City to Arsenal. However, Arteta hasn’t ruled out signing him. According to the Spanish coach:

“People are asking me about Erling Haaland, and I think it’s a very interesting conversation. Apparently, we need a better striker. We need more goals. We need somebody who can finish every chance we create.”

It is also rumoured that Luis Enrique will be interested in Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City to PSG. This pursuit is even more ignited after the forward’s goal nearly clinched a draw for the Citizens against the Ligue 1 champions earlier in midweek.

Also, FC Barcelona wouldn’t be closing the doors to Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City. According to reports, it’s rumoured the Norwegian striker would fancy a move to the Catalan club, should City be relegated. It’s further suggested Haaland likes the idea of playing alongside Lamine Yamal, and as things stand, it appears Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City to Barça may come to fruition. It’s reported that the striker’s agent has contacted the La Liga champions over a potential move away from England.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City. Perhaps, when the sanctions are delivered, both clubs could make their intentions known.

Erling Haaland’s Transfer From Manchester City: The Forward Remains Focused With City

Despite all that has been said, and the 114 charges against City, Haaland is still focused on the 2026/2027 season with the club. Fabrizio Romano reports that Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City may not occur any time soon, even if City gets relegated.

Haaland has a deal that will see him through till the summer of 2034. Currently, his contract with City makes it the longest presently in the Premier League, and aside from the fact that the ex-Borussia Dortmund forward may not be interested in leaving, it’s doubtful as to whether Enzo Maresca and City will let their most important player leave the club.

On City’s 114 proven charges, the club’s management through Ferran Soriano and Khaldoon Al Mubarak has assured the staff and players that they’d come out of this mess. Perhaps, just perhaps, this is the only assurance Haaland and his teammates have.

Extra Time Notes

It’s certain clubs are eyeing Erling Haaland’s transfer from Manchester City. However, whether the forward will leave the club depends on several factors, one of which is City’s relegation. However, the team remains confident in their appeal and are ready to bounce back to the top club that they are.
