The Premier League 2026/27 season will get underway in a couple of weeks, with Arsenal taking on Coventry City in the opening match on Friday, August 21. Mohamed Salah’s exit from the league means that the Premier League 2026/27 season loses its high-scoring Egyptian Golden Boot winner, as the former Reds winger won the award four times. However, even in his absence, there are other genuine contenders to win the Golden Boot in the Premier League 2026/27 season.
Three Contenders To Win The Golden Boot In Premier League 2026/27 Season
3. Benjamin Sesko
Sesko lifted his performance in the second half of last season after having an ordinary start to it. He scored 12 goals in 32 matches for Manchester United, including 11 in the Premier League. Sesko showed great opportunism under Michael Carrick, who took over the reins of the club in January, as the Slovenian is a big man and thus remains a threat in the air.
He also moves pretty quickly for a man of his size and tries frequently to get behind the defensive line. Sesko will have a brilliant creator like Bruno Fernandes playing behind him and wingers like Bryan Mbeumo, Marcus Rashford and Matheus Cunha alongside him, who can ensure a constant supply of the ball. If he can get his act together, he should be in the reckoning for the Golden Boot in the Premier League 2026/27 season.
2. Alexander Isak
Isak had a forgettable 2025/26 season after moving to Liverpool from Newcastle United through a much-hyped transfer that created a lot of controversy. He scored only four goals in 22 matches for the Reds last season and missed the majority of it because of a serious injury. However, it cannot be forgotten that Isak is only going to turn 27 next month and should be in his prime as a footballer now. It also has to be remembered that he scored 62 goals in 109 matches for Newcastle, which persuaded Liverpool to sign him.
Hence, if Isak can link up with midfielders like Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai, there is no reason why Isak cannot challenge for the Golden Boot in the Premier League 2026/27 season. The Swede is a very mobile centre-forward and moves to the flanks and drops deep frequently, but remains a lethal finisher as well.

1. Erling Haaland
There have been very few goal-scorers like Haaland in the history of football. The 26-year-old Norwegian has scored 162 goals in 198 matches for Manchester City in four seasons and won three Golden Boot awards in the process. The scary thing is that Haaland’s prime as a footballer has probably only begun, as the Norwegian scored 38 goals last season, including 27 in 35 matches in the Premier League.
He has the most lethal left foot inside the opposition penalty box in the modern game, and his size makes it even tougher for the defenders to contain him. As a result, Haaland remains the hot favourite to win the Golden Boot yet again in the Premier League 2026/27 season, provided he can stay injury-free throughout the entire length of the season.
